Game Reserve Experience South Africa
Wildlife and Volunteering Experience
€500 per week
· Minimum length of time is 2 weeks
· Varied activities such as assisting at an elephant sanctuary, lion monitoring, fence patrols,
game count, anti-poaching efforts, conservation efforts, repairing potholes, removal of alien
vegetation, tree planting and landscaping
· Available to individuals, small, medium and large groups
Game Ranger Course
€500 per week
· 8 week course providing theoretical and practical training to become a qualified field guide
· Topics include geology, astronomy, weather and climate, basic ecology and taxonomy
· Regular lectures and training is completed in preparation for the final examination
Veterinary Internship
€500 per week
· Minimum length of time is 2 weeks
· Participants will work with experts in the veterinary field
The weekly price of each experience includes:
· Airport transfers to and from the game reserve
· Accommodation
· Meals whilst at the game reserve
· Transport and accommodation during optional weekend excursions
· Use of facilities at the game reserve such as the swimming pool, sports facilities and
entertainment rooms
Students are responsible for the costs of flights to and from South Africa.
Extra money will be required for the purchase of personal items, internet usage, laundry and
meals/activities whilst on weekend excursions.
