Generation Jacks is limited to the first 100 students who accept membership in the program. To secure your
spot please fill out the following form and return it via mail, fax, or email to the contact information listed on
the bottom of the page. You may also visit our website at www.sfasu.edu/genjacks for more information.

automatically be added to your schedule before orientation. FYI: We will make every effort to get you into
your preferred courses, but a GJ advisor may contact you to switch based on your degree plan, earned college

Residential Learning Community: GJ have the option to live in our GJ residential community in Steen Hall. GJ
will have one entire floor in Steen on the co-ed side and will have access to unique programming and other
opportunities. Space is limited to the first 40 students who select the learning community.

Summer Leadership Academy: All GJ students get to move to campus early on Sunday, August 20 and
participate in workshops, socials, service, and leadership activities. You will get to move directly in to your
assigned residence hall for the semester. Consider joining the residence community (page 1) so you get to
meet your fellow GJ right away and live with them during SLA!
At the academy, you will get to meet your fellow GJ students, GJ staff members, professors teaching your
courses, and upperclassmen GJ who will serve as mentors for you during your college career.
The Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) will run from Sunday, August 20-Friday morning, August 25 with a
welcome BBQ for your parents and families on the 20th when you move in. You will receive more details about
SLA when you come for orientation!
The summer leadership academy will cost $50.00/student to cover your early move-in housing costs. This will
be billed directly to your SFA account in the Fall semester. All other expenses, including meals, supplies, etc.
will be taken care of by GenJacks. The academy is required for all incoming GJ students. If this is a problem,

*If you are not living on campus, you will not be charged the $50.00 fee for SLA

I will take 2 academic courses from the choices listed above during Fall 2017
o I may not receive my first choice courses based on my degree plan, college credit, and course
availability. A GJ advisor will ensure my courses fit into my college plan.
I will take SFA 101 in Fall 2017
I will be required to take SFA 110 and SFA 250 in my 2nd and 3rd semester at SFA, respectively.
I agree to be charged $50.00 via my SFA account to pay for the Summer Leadership Academy.
I will receive additional information throughout the summer and at orientation
I will check my JACKS email regularly to receive all GJ communications
I will notify the GJ manager at [email protected] if I choose to not join GenJacks
