INTRODUCTION
Kickstart Valley is a well-knit team of highly motivated and
experienced professionals with proven success willing to quit their
everyday jobs, and prove their metal in an era of new dawn.
We have 70 years of cumulative experience in research &
development, information technology, hardware engineering,
software development, project management, marketing and
innovation.
We have 20 pending and one issued USPTO patent, several
conferences and publications and certifications in our portfolio.
PROBLEM
Current interfaces for IoT are not much intuitive, user friendly
or accessible. In order to identify which control or display is for
what IoT hardware or object and interact with, unless already
well informed or experienced, the user has to rely mostly on
virtual maps, 2D layout of premises or guess work.
A user can see and reach a physical IoT object such as a smart
lamp or sensor, but to interact with it whether to control,
actuate or read value, user has to struggle with application or
interface, locate location and identify object and only than it is
possible.
PROBLEM – CONTD.
Users with physical constraints, special needs or assistance or
disabilities also find it very cumbersome when they find a smart
object in their sight but do not know how to interact with it unless
well informed.
An example is a post operated patient who is unable to move from
bed willing to switch off room’s lights has to either call an attendant
or locate switch board in access or go through cumbersome menus,
tries, guides, and tabs to identify which room, bed and light he needs
to interact with.
It is also not much satisfying and natural experience to interact with
devices apps and IoT dashboards than with real world objects.
PROBLEM – CONTD.
User experience differs greatly in interacting with real world switch board
in comparison with a graphical user interface.
These IoT interfaces does not provide context, position as well as
interaction in a natural way because most user interfaces use artificial
control devices whose operation has to be learned.
Current and past IoT interfaces also lacks natural feedback mechanism. It
is also near to impossible for a user to interact through an IoT user
interface/dashboard with smart city objects and public access IoT
hardware such as street lamp, dumpster bin etc.
unless prior access information such as communication medium, protocol,
access and authentication are obtained.
CONCEPTS
Hybrid reality is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce
new environments and visualizations where physical and digital
objects co-exist and interact in real time.
Hybrid reality takes place not only in the physical world or the
virtual world but is a mix of reality and virtual reality, encompassing
both augmented reality and augmented virtuality.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects,
devices, vehicles, buildings and other items which are embedded with
electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which
enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
VALUE PROPOSITION
We provide an mixed reality dashboard and a system that comprises
smart apps for devices and wearables, cloud/communication tech and
things (sensors or actuators).
This system eases user through intuitive natural user interface.
This system unifies various existing IoT technologies, standards and
frameworks thereby providing user a seamless integrated control
interface.
In this way we are in unique position to address “basket of remotes”
phenomenon.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Our
product
consists
a
system
of
hardware
(Communication
mediums/Network/Wireless, IoT Things & Hubs, markers, smart devices), software
(Application, Cloud, Services) and protocols (for communication and authentication).
It works in pitch dark through use of illuminated markers.
It will remember previously accessed things, hubs/networks, authentication and
locations.
It will work remotely for previously accessed/authenticated things and show PoI in
browser/App with ARIoT overlay dashboard.
Users will be able to interact with & control environment seamlessly and naturally
through advancement of Augmented Goggles through our system.
PRODUCT EXAMPLE
Imagine a user has installed several sensors for environment and safety, and actuators to control
air-conditioning, lightning, electronic equipment and appliances in his home.
User opens our ARIoT app in his smart device (phone or goggles) and look through its display
moving around his home.
He is experiencing a view through device’s camera and wherever the App detects a marker (QR
Code, Image) placed near IoT hardware, App replaces the marker with interactive realistic 3D
dashboard consisting switches and gauges (depending upon ‘thing’ being pointed at).
Now user can interacts with App to switch on/off the thing (if it is a light) or view values/gauge (in
case pointed to temperature snsor). He is provided with authentication, secure communication
direct or through IoT cloud. He will also be able to operate in pitch dark as well as while he is in
office at remote location from home or wherever his IoT setup is as well as through his smart
goggles and future wearables.
PROTOTYPE
PROTOTYPE
OPPORTUNITY
Gartner estimates that IoT product and service suppliers will generate incremental
revenue exceeding $300 billion in 2020.
IDC forecasts that the worldwide market for IoT solutions will grow from $1.9
trillion in 2013 to $7.1 trillion in 2020.
Other research firms focus on slices of this potentially trillion-dollar market such
as connected cars, smart homes, and wearables.
Our product provides natural intuitive remote interface for IoT, Smart Home,
Smart Cities & Hospitals, Smart Cars, Wireless Sensor Networks, Augmented
Reality and Drones.
COMPETETION
IoT, Augmented Reality, Home Automation & Smart Cities sectors have many players with
matured products and captured various market segments. For example IBM, Google, Microsoft,
Apple & Cisco are at top 5 slots.
Somehow all these players failed to realize the
Importance of Natural User Interface & that’s
where we excel and innovate, ahead of its time.
