GETTING STARTED
6. Lift the ActivBoard off the stand.
• The installation work should be performed by a qualified installer.
Attempting to install the product without relevant experience is
done so at your own risk.
• Ensure sufficient space to work around the ActivBoard System,
including somewhere to put the ActivBoard whilst the Shelf is
installed.
• Take care when lifting and moving equipment.
• Two people will be required to remove the ActivBoard and to
replace it once the brackets are fitted.
• The images used in this Guide refer to installation onto an
ActivBoard Mobile System. If your System is wall-mounted you
will not have the base shown in the picture, but the installation
instructions remain the same.
• Check you have all of the contents.
INSTALLING THE ACTIVBOARD
SYSTEM SHELF / LOCKABLE SHELF
The Shelf can be fitted to either side of the stand. A maximum of two
Shelves can be installed- one on either side- on the stand. Consider the room
layout and the user’s personal preference when deciding which side to fit the
Shelf.
1. Confirm if the shelf will be installed on the left or right of the System.
2. Slide the shelf on to the tube, ensuring the plastic end caps are behind the
mounting bracket so they are not visible from the front of the system.
3. Tighten the thumb screw to ensure the shelf does not slip during
assembly.
4. Attach the second bracket by hand, pushing the tube firmly into the hole
on the bracket. DO NOT use a hammer.
LOCKABLE SHELF:
The tube is supplied separately from the brackets.
1. The tube must be inserted from the top of the
shelf (Fig 2).

1. Disconnect power to the System.

3. Unplug cables at the back of the ActivBoard (Fig 1).
4. Depending on the set-up of the ActivBoard System, there may be
additional cables on the ActivBoard to disconnect.
5. Slide back the safety retainer brackets on the back of the System to allow
the ActivBoard to be removed.

2. Attach the brackets firmly by hand, with a push
fit. Ensure the brackets are orientated appropriately for the shelf to be
installed on the correct side of the stand. DO NOT use a hammer.

2. For the Mobile System ensure the two
front wheels are locked.
7. You will now have access to the stand frame, where the Shelf will be
fitted.
1. Insert the brackets into the stand frame. Be careful not to disturb the
cables attached to the motor switch or connectivity panel.

1. Fix the brackets in place using the two screws and washers supplied, using
the hole that corresponds with the size of the ActivBoard. If you are unsure
of the size of your ActivBoard, check the product code label on the left hand
side of the board.

Adjusting the height of the shelf:

2. Ensure brackets are firmly in place.
3. If you are fitting two Shelves, repeat II to IV on the other side of the
stand.
Adjusting the height of the lockable shelf:
To raise the shelf• lift using 2 hands.

1. Replace the ActivBoard on to the stand
mounting brackets. Ensuring the upper
ActivBoard brackets sit over the upper brackets
on the frame.
The bottom of the ActivBoard should rest on
the lower brackets (Fig 3).

THE SAFETY RETAINER BRACKETS MUST BE REPOSITIONED OVER THE
ACTIVBOARD BRACKETS (Fig 4). THIS IS DONE BY SLIDING THE SAFETY
RETAINER BRACKETS TOWARDS THE ACTIVBOARD. ENSURE THE
BRACKETS ARE FIRMLY FITTED OVER THE BOARD BRACKETS, SO THAT
THE ACTIVBOARD CANNOT BE LIFTED OFF THE STAND.
2. Reconnect the ActivBoard cables.
3. Reconnect power to the ActivBoard System.

• Loosen the thumb screw beneath the
shelf (Fig 4).
• Move the shelf to the desired height.
• Retighten the thumb screw. ENSURE
the thumb screw is tightened before
using the shelf.

To lower the shelf• Lifting the shelf slightly, push in the
orange button at the back of the shelf
(Fig 5- 1).
• Keeping the button depressed, lower
the shelf to the desired height and release the button (Fig 5- 2).

USER GUIDELINES
• DO NOT lean, or place heavy items on the shelf. The maximum load
is 15kg.
• DO NOT place drinks on the shelf.
• LOCKABLE SHELF- Take care when opening and closing the lid.
• LOCKABLE SHELF- DO NOT drop the lid on the lockable shelf.
When used with the ActivBoard Mobile System:
• Promethean recommends the wheels are locked.
• When moving the ActivBoard Mobile System, use the orange
handles on the back of the frame, do not pull or push on the shelf or
brackets.
