Media Release: Tuesday March 13, 2012 WD ENTERTAINMENT HAS ORGANISED THE BABYSITTER AND IS BRINGING THE PARTY TO MIPTV WD Entertainment (WDE) shows you how to party like an international DJ and how to get a celebrity to babysit your kids when it rocks MIPTV next week with their amazing reality slate: The Stafford Brothers and Celebrity Babysitter. Thanks to a grant from Screen Queensland, it is the first time the Australian production company will be attending the event and presenting their own original formats and recent acquisitions. Wes Dening, creator of WDE, has gone from strength to strength since starting the company in 2008 and is excited by the opportunity to bring his brands to market, “In order to grow the company I knew we had to find unique character’s and fresh ideas. Now, thanks to our growing team of production partners around the world, our shows are starting to break through and make a lot of noise,” he said. WDE will present their hit TV series The Stafford Brothers, which has already been sold to Canada and Brazil as a full 16-part series, with international representation through DRG (Digital Rights Group) the UK’s #1 independent distributor. The Stafford Brothers, Matt and Chris, are Australia’s number one DJ’s and a dance music sensation who have risen to national-fame with a hipster crowd that live vicariously through the Aussie deejaying duo. The boys' careers have exploded since season one, touring the world and mixing it up at the hottest festivals, clubs and parties around the globe in their quest to land themselves a number one hit, and expand their music brand and burgeoning nightclub empire. The Stafford Brothers series follows the real-life challenges facing the DJ brothers as they fight their way to the top in one of the world’s most lucrative industries. With season 2 already broadcasting on Fox8 in Australia, the series will also launch in Canada and Brazil in 2012. WDE will also bring to MIPTV its most recent acquisition, the extremely successful Norwegian format Celebrity Babysitter which sees celebrities compete to be crowned the best babysitter in the country. The judges and expert panel are four funny and tough kids who live-in with the celebrity and judge them on their babysitting abilities. Over the course of a chaotic 24-hours, each celebrity invites this team of kids into their home for hours of entertainment, chaos, and non-traditional family fun, leaving the celebrity in charge and outside of their comfort zone. It is then down to the children to vote on the celebrity’s babysitting abilities and determine who is the best Celebrity Babysitter in the country. WDE is developing the Australian version of the hugely successful format, which is now in production for its second season in Norway and has recently been acquired in Germany and the US. “The show is non-stop entertainment that the entire family can enjoy. Imagine one of Australia’s most out-spoken politicians babysitting your kids for the day, or one of our favourite film-stars? I would love to see how Aussie celebrities handle babysitting not one, but four kids!” said Dening. Page 1 of 2 MIPTV is held in Cannes every year and is the largest gathering in TV and Media.
