Doc’s View Sponsored by Burnie Sports Cafe Preview: Round 15 – February 11, 2017 By Alan “Doc” Hancock With only four rounds left till finals, let's take a look at the A, B and C grade ladders. In A Grade, Natone sit on top with 60 points, Acton 57, West Ridgley and Riana 54. At this stage the four looks locked in, the only worry is the double chance and third spot for a home final. Natone play Forest-Stanley this week and should win. Their other games are against Smithton Stars at Wivenhoe, Stowport at Stowport and the bye in the last round. All games they will start favourite. Acton face the tougher rounds. This week the bye (no points), then West at Acton, Riana at Acton and Myalla at Wynyard. Rounds 16 and 17 are both crucial to their season with wins a must to hold down second spot. West this week grab six points from the Ridgley game, then take on Acton, have bye (no points) and finally the Stars at Ridgley. Riana travel to Smithton this week, then play Myalla, Acton and grab six points from the Ridgley game. So as you can see, it's going to be a tight finish. In B Grade, Acton and West on 66, Yolla 60, and Riana in the four on 48. Just outside the four, Ridgley also 48 and Somerset 45. The important games here, Round 16 Acton and West and the final Round 18, West and Yolla, then Riana and Ridgley. C grade is the most interesting with eight teams still in the running. Acton Red 72, well out in front. Then the interest thickens. Somerset and Natone 48, Stowport Colts, Myalla and Riana Colts all on 42, Ridgley 39 and Riana 33. The games up for decision this week are Stowport Colts and Riana Colts, Round 17 Acton Red and Stowport Colts and Ridgley and Riana, and then the final game Myalla and Riana. So plenty of interest in BCL cricket over the final four rounds.
