Proposal for Team Building Grass Games - Imagine

Proposal for Team Building Grass Games
Location
Any large grassy space such as a public park. Ideally there should be a few trees or
posts, and not too many people passing through.
Bad Weather Plan
Most of the games work just the same indoors, so in the case of bad weather, as
long as a large indoor space can be provided, the activities can continue. One or two
games would be taken out, while other games would be extended. An indoor
alternative location should be identified in advance.
Schedule
Activities run for 2-2.5 hours, any time during daylight hours.
• Split the whole group into even smaller groups. We recommend splitting randomly
so that people get to know new colleagues.
• A series of 6-10 activity stations are set up.
• Each group make their way through the series of activities.
• Within each group of people, the group then further divides into three smaller
teams, who compete against each other in each of the games, collecting points.
• The small team with the most points in the group in the winner in that group.
• A fun ‘final’ race is held at the end between the four winning groups, and all groups
can watch and cheer their team on.
Included
• Bilingual, fun, foreign trained activity leaders
• Overall activity leader for whole group speeches and organization.
• All equipment, props, game design etc.
Not Included
• Outdoor location and alternative location
Games
Fun Team Selection (women)
• All women wear blindfolds and are tapped on the shoulder and allocated a team.
They must then gather their teammates by walking around blindfolded and shouting
their team name. The men get to watch and laugh.
Fun Team Selection (men)
• An anonymous selection process where men put their backsides through holes in a
giant curtain, and women select them by shooting them from the other side of the
curtain with water guns filled with the color of their team.
Untie/Tie the Rope
• The teams must work together to untie and tie a large, tangled rope, with certain
rules applied to make it challenging. Teamwork and leadership are required.
Blindfolded Shape Creation
• The team must organize themselves into certain shapes and formats while
blindfolded.
Caterpillar Races
• A fun, physical team race game, where the team must move together in a certain
way to reach a goal.
Blindfolded Navigation
• Leaders must devise a strategy to guide their blindfolded team to find objects.
Teamwork, planning and communication skills are challenged. Other games and
variations may be added according to time.
People Machine
• Divide group into even numbered teams (4-8 participants are ideal). Advise teams
to make themselves into a machine, with as many parts (gears, levers, etc.) as they
can devise. The machine should have motion and sound, and include all team
members. Give the teams five minutes to prepare their machine. Once the time is up,
the teams take turns presenting and guessing each other’s machine.
Human Surfing
• Everyone sits on the ground with their legs in towards the center. One person on
the end starts by laying down face up, as the other people hold them. The group
passes them down the line, when they reach the end, they must join in. First group
to get across the goal wins.
A conclusion speech will be given, encouraging participants to think about leadership,
teamwork and communication, discuss what they have learned and what they can
take away from this to apply to the workplace.
Price: RMB 190 per participant
