Shark Tank Project - St. Mary`s School

Main Goal: You will be creating a product, business idea or concept. At
the end of the semester you will be presenting this idea to the
entrepreneurs (Sharks) of St. Mary’s School. When watching Shark Tank,
think about what intrigues the Sharks to invest in the business concept
or what turns them away from the business concept.

You will work in a group of 3-4 students.
Create a UNIQUE product idea.
Develop a Business Plan
o What is your company called?
o What is your product called?
o Slogan?
o Owners Names
o Detailed plan of product/service
o Business Logo
o Business Philosophy/Purpose
 Example: McDonalds—“To provide fast food for the
customer prepared in the same high-quality manner worldwide that is tasty, reasonably priced, and delivered
consistently in a low-key décor and friendly atmosphere.
BUSINESS EXPENSES

How much would it cost to manufacture your product?
o Office Space/Warehouse/Factory Rental
o Utility Costs (Electricity/Water/Etc.)
o Product Costs
o Labor
o Advertising
BUSINESS PROFIT

How much would you sell your business for?
o Would people pay this price?
o How many buyers do you estimate?  BE REALISTIC!!
What do you expect your profits to be?
Who are your target consumers?
o Region/State?
o Age?
o Gender?
o Income Level/Social Class
Who is your competition, and why is your business better?
What startup costs would you incur?
o How much money do you want from the sharks?
o How much ownership of your company are you willing to offer?
Where do you see your company in 10 years? 20?
Why should the Sharks invest in your company?
