Purpose: To serve as a volunteer in the retention, motivation and training of team captains.
Timeframe: This is a position serving on the committee from Oct – July at approximately 5-7 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities:
 Participate in monthly WLM committee meetings (bi-weekly in the 2 months leading up to the walk
date). Provide a progress report at the meetings.
 Assist with determining strategies and tips for successful team captains.
 Participate in face to face meetings with new team captains or those that need assistance.
 In coordination with the WLM coordinator, develop and implement a team week, foster, develop and
implement team competitions and develop a system to monitor and communicate with new recruits.
 Participate in monthly WLM steering committee meetings.
 Delegate duties to committee members and maintain contact with them in order to ensure completion of
tasks in a timely manner.

Regular communication (reminders and checking on progress) with committee members to
ensure that tasks are being completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
General Duties:
 Solicitation of possible in-kind donations.
 Assist with determining potential sponsors, corporate partners and volunteers.
 Form a WLM Team.
 Recruit at least one WLM Team.
