2014 Committee Focus Area: Team Captain Mentor Seats Available: 1 Purpose: To serve as a volunteer in the retention, motivation and training of team captains. Timeframe: This is a position serving on the committee from Oct – July at approximately 5-7 hours per month. Key Responsibilities: Participate in monthly WLM committee meetings (bi-weekly in the 2 months leading up to the walk date). Provide a progress report at the meetings. Assist with determining strategies and tips for successful team captains. Participate in face to face meetings with new team captains or those that need assistance. In coordination with the WLM coordinator, develop and implement a team week, foster, develop and implement team competitions and develop a system to monitor and communicate with new recruits. Participate in monthly WLM steering committee meetings. Delegate duties to committee members and maintain contact with them in order to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner. Regular communication (reminders and checking on progress) with committee members to ensure that tasks are being completed in a timely and appropriate manner. General Duties: Solicitation of possible in-kind donations. Assist with determining potential sponsors, corporate partners and volunteers. Form a WLM Team. Recruit at least one WLM Team.
