IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FOR APPLICANTS OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. AND CANADA
The Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF) awards grants primarily in the U.S. and Canada to established youth
baseball and softball programs and facilities. However, BTF always encourages the growth of the game
in new and emerging markets and to communities in which baseball and softball is not offered.
To do so in the most effective, responsible and sustainable way, the BTF selection and evaluation
process for grant requests from applicants outside of the U.S. and Canada has been adapted to better
serve those applicants.
Please read carefully the following guidelines by region.
European, the Middle Eastern, African Applicants
Non-profit organizations located in Europe, the Middle East or Africa involved in youth baseball and
softball programs and facilities, or that are interested in creating a new youth baseball and softball
program, must contact the Major League Baseball International (MLBI) London office BEFORE
REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND. Your organization may be eligible for
support and resources provided by MLBI. Information about MLBI programs can be found at
www.mlb.com.

If the organization and/or project are found by MLBI to be a potential BTF applicant, BTF will use the
following criteria to evaluate any future application:
Projects outside of the U.S., Canada and Latin America selected to receive a Baseball Tomorrow
Fund grant must meet the following requirements:

Applicants must work with and be in good-standing with Major League Baseball
International (MLBI) and must be located in target markets defined by MLBI.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund will consider requests for field or facility projects to support
the growth of recreational youth baseball and/or softball.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund has an expressed preference to support the renovation or
construction of fields and facilities that are exclusively dedicated for youth baseball and/or
softball. A written lease or agreement for long-term use must be provided.

National baseball/softball federations must demonstrate a new or established program
directed toward youth recreational or school baseball and/or softball programs.

Non-profit organizations, youth/human service/development agencies must demonstrate
working relationship with the national baseball/softball federation and/or a national youth
baseball organization.

Municipal and/or federal government support of the project is required.
Australia and Oceania Applicants
Non-profit organizations located in the Australia and Oceania region involved in youth baseball and
softball programs and facilities, or that are interested in creating a new youth baseball and softball
program, must contact the Major League Baseball International (MLBI) Australia and Oceania office
BEFORE REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND. Your organization may be
eligible for support and resources provided by MLBI. Information about MLBI programs can be found a

Non-profit organizations located in Latin American countries (including the Caribbean) involved in youth
baseball and softball programs and facilities, or that are interested in creating a new youth baseball and
softball program, must contact the Major League Baseball Dominican Republic (MLB DR) office BEFORE
REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND. Your organization may be eligible for
support and resources provided by MLB DR.

with the MLB Dominican Republic office.
Asian Applicants
Non-profit organizations located in Asia involved in youth baseball and softball programs and facilities,
or that are interested in creating a new youth baseball and softball program, must contact the Major
League Baseball International (MLBI) Beijing office BEFORE REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE BASEBALL
TOMORROW FUND. Your organization may be eligible for support and resources provided by MLBI.
