Role Purpose
Enterprise Ireland’s vision for a transformed Irish enterprise sector is for client companies to be
led by highly skilled, innovative and customer focused management teams, experienced in the
internationalisation of companies, with skilled and innovative workforces.
The strategic challenge is the development of a range of best-in-class leadership, innovation,
entrepreneurship and international sales offers and the formation of a world class business
leaders peer learning community, that can cascade and involve our full range of business clients,
based on leading edge learning and technology principles and practices. Part of the challenge
also is the development and implementation of strategies at national and regional level to assist
our SME clients attract, develop and retain skills and talent.
The Department Manager, Client Management Development and Client Skills will lead in the
development and implementation of strategies to address these central challenges of leadership
and talent.
Key Deliverables













Lead the development of leadership programmes to meet the evolving needs of clients.
Lead the CMD team in the development of Enterprise Ireland’s leadership and related
capability building platform, in consultation with the organisation’s company development
teams.
Guide the development and provision of key transformational leadership programmes such
as Leadership for Growth (L4G), Innovation for Growth (I4G) etc.
Ensure the rapid development of online modules and programmes that respond to clients’
evolving capability building needs.
Build the SME/business leaders peer learning community as a global best-in-class model.
Drive the cascading of Enterprise Ireland leadership capability programmes to reach a
greater number of EI clients.
Ensure that all programmes deliver the necessary impact and are operated within all
procurement requirements.
Lead the development and implementation of strategies to assist our SME clients to attract,
develop and retain skills and talent.
Pro-actively engage with the implementation and continuous improvement of the new Client
Engagement Model in close collaboration with relevant EI colleagues.
Play a lead role in the implementation of the 2017-2020 corporate strategy as a member of
the Enterprise Ireland management team ensuring delivery of agreed targets.
Lead, manage and develop the CMD team to support their continuous development and to
oversee the achievement of objectives and metrics.
Manage the delivery of appropriate recommendations in the DJEI Action Plan for Jobs.
Act as a thought leader and public spokesperson for Enterprise Ireland in the area of
leadership and capability development at appropriate fora.

Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team is essential.
Experience of business leadership programmes is essential.
Experience of capability building programmes based on latest learning and online
technologies is essential.
Experience of developing capability building programmes within complex organisations.
Excellent knowledge of best practice leadership and management development trends both
in Ireland and internationally.
Knowledge of strategies for businesses to attract, develop and retain skills and talent.
Experience in working with third party training providers to deliver a service to clients.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and networks, to collaborate and connect across
internal and external stakeholders to the benefit of clients, as well as proven experience of
influencing key stakeholders.
A third level qualification is desirable.
Additional key requirement for this role:
Willingness and flexibility to engage with networks and attend relevant events requiring
engagement outside of Enterprise Ireland’s business hours.

Salary Scale:
€81,767 to €94,521 per annum contributory superannuation
Rising to €100,333 by long service increments.
€77,849 to €89,964 per annum non-contributory superannuation
Rising to €95,487 by long service increments.
Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum of the relevant scale and the rate of
remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Subject to
satisfactory performance, increments may be payable in line with current Government Policy.
