GRANDPARENTS DAY- SAVE THE DATE- FEBRUARY 20TH Save the date Friday, Feb 20th for Grandparent & Older Friends day at PUCS! We will be sending postcards home with your student in early January so that you can mail an invitation to those you would like to have the chance to visit your child at school. It’s time to begin work on the 2014-15 PUCS Yearbook! The yearbook club will meet after school every Thursday in February and March (Thursday, February 5 through Thursday, March 26). The club begins immediately after school and will end promptly at 4:30pm. Transportation home from club needs to be provided by the parents. Middle school students wanting to participate in the yearbook club should return the attached permission slip to the office by January 30. In the meantime, everyone is invited to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of PUCS or PUCS students, we’d love to see them. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book! Friday Parent Volunteer Lunches will begin this week! This is a great opportunity for parents to help teachers spend time together at lunch. This year the format has changed a bit and you will be able to select the teacher and classroom you will volunteer in. Hopefully, you all have received an email from Signup Genius....actually some of you got two....I found out that 30 emails were missing in the first mailing. Sorry! If you did not get the email please let me know and I will add your email to the list. Reach me at [email protected] Volunteer Clearances – All parent drivers, overnight chaperones (PUCS CAMP), volunteers or employees for any PUCS event must have an Act 33 Clearance (PA child abuse history) and an Act 151 clearance (criminal investigation) on file in the office. These forms will stay valid for as long as your child attends PUCS. PIZZA FRIDAYS We need volunteers to help prepare and serve pizza on Fridays from 10:30 to 1:00. The profits support the end of year Middle School field trips. Volunteers needed: 2 volunteers every Friday to prepare and serve pizza. All school delay decisions or closings are made by the school districts and will affect your child’s transportation. If your school district is delayed, your transportation will be delayed. PUCS WILL ONLY CALL A DELAY IF PITTSBURGH PUBLIC CALLS A DELAY. If we are notified of an early dismissal by a school district, we will call you at the numbers listed on your emergency form. If we cannot reach you, we will leave a message and your child will be sent to their regular drop-off place. ***WE STRONGLY URGE YOU TO HAVE A PLAN FOR WHERE YOUR CHILD CAN GO IF THEY ARRIVE HOME AND YOU ARE NOT THERE. In any situation, feel free to make a decision to keep your child home or transport them yourself. Please call your child’s bus company to inform them.
