behaviour and verbalizing it
Teacher’s introduction [5 min]:
Getting positive feedback boosts wellbeing, gives energy and
develops positive atmosphere. Giving positive feedback isn't
always easy but fortunately it’s a skill that can be practised. You
can start by thinking about a situation that had an emotional
impact on you. When somebody did something that made you
think “well that was really kind from him!” or “that was very brave
from her!”. Can you recall a moment when you were proud of
yourself and the way you handled the situation?
Here’s what we do [15min]:
The pupils give themselves positive feedback for some concrete
situation by writing and/or drawing.
” Help me, I can’t think about anything to write”
BONUS
Teacher notices and gives positive feedback to pupils during
the week. In the end of the week he/she can test and ask if
the children have noticed this? How does it influence them?
How does it feel like?
When did you last receive positive feedback? How did it feel?
What kind of situations or things are you good at? What kind of feedback would
be nice to receive?
Think about what kind of feedback would you give to others. What kind of
qualities do you think are important? Can you recall a situation at the recess or in
the eatery for example where somebody has done something nice or smart for
you or somebody else? Even a smallest things count!
