Conclusions
•
There is a requirement for all the types of training covered in the survey, but requested from highest to lowest
(based on total number of staff requiring the training) is as follows:
1. EPS (Planned early New Year)
2. Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
3. Dermatology
4. COPD (Recently completed)
5. MOT Health Checks
6. Medicines Optimisation
7. Consultation Skills
8. Annual Flu Training (Offer every year)
9. Refresher Flu Training (Offer every year)
•
Compared to all the other areas of training, it would appear that contractors are already fairly happy with the level
of flu training already available.
Contractors have identified 24 other types of training, the main ones being in the areas of EHC, smoking cessation
and minor ailments.
The times and locations of training need to be considered carefully, as this seems to be a concern for many
contractors. A new policy of training not starting until at least 7pm has now been introduced.
PROPOSAL - develop a training plan initially for Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults in each CCG
location, funded pharma if possible.
