FEMALE FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
Partnership between FLT, the FA & Sport England
Inspired over 26,000 new players to date.
Focus on fun and fitness has brought the benefits of sport to
women and girls who may otherwise not have played any football.
Brentford FC took a direct approach to changing lives through
football by taking FFD into the local prison. This gave participants
a positive outlook, helping them reintegrate into society and
reduce re-offending.

confidence and self-esteem and reduced the
worries I had about reintegrating into society.”

KINDER + SPORT: MOVE & LEARN
Project designed to get children active and promote
healthy eating.
Over the course of six 90 minute weekly sessions,
children will learn about the body, nutrition, the importance
of exercise and food groups and take part in a practical
session of football, handball and dodgeball.
21,000 children engaged in 2014/14.
Players at clubs have acted as ambassadors for the
project and schools get to take part in half-time penalty
shoot-outs.
EDUCATION & FUTSAL PROGRAMME
Full time FE programme – BTEC sports diploma level 1-3
Began in 10/11 with 90 students. Now over 1300 students at 50 clubs
around England and Wales.
Many progress into higher education.
Annual cup featured on Soccer AM with finals held at the Copperbox
Futsal development manager to join the programme for 15/16
academic year to develop the coaches working on the programme.

degree and coaching qualifications, preparing
them for employment in the industry or
progressing to do a top up year.
