LI-6251 CO2 Analyzer Cannot Communicate Using an RS

LI-6251 CO2 Analyzer cannot communicate using an RS232 Serial Port or
Serial Cable
Unfortunately, there is not a simple program or software available to establish communication between an LI-6251
CO2 Analyzer and a computer. The LI-6251 is an earlier instrument that did not have a Digital Board installed, nor is
there an RS-232 Serial Port with which to communicate.
To communicate to a computer, an external device needs to be obtained to convert the Analog Signals (output
through the Terminal Strip on the back of the Analyzer) into digital format that a computer can accept. There are
several ways to go about doing this although LI-COR does not specifically have a solution available for this issue.
Solutions may be found by searching the Internet, or a local computer/electronics store to see if they have a device
that will do this. Otherwise, a data logger can be used to read in the voltages and store them for later transfer to a
computer.
Unfortunately, we don't have a more convenient solution available. Since this instrument was last manufactured in
1999, LI-COR has not made any further improvements to this instrument to utilize more modern advances in
technology.
