Board of Directors Meeting Minutes 3/18/14
The board meeting was held in the Clubhouse and attended by:
Mike Maleski, Kevan Emmott, Megan McMorrow, Dunia Pasternak, Grant Yoder, Hunt
Allard, Maureen McManus, Baman Rusby; John Cocker, Bob Neumann, Nico Vroom,
Liz Shipley, Mary Bohan

 Minutes from 2/11/14 were reviewed and approved.
Election of Executive Officers-Mary Bohan

Committees Discussion-Mike Maleski
 This is the time of year when we change assignments, assign new board
members to committees.
 Mike will reach out to everyone before the next

 Invoice monies are coming in
 Clubhouse is doing well
Membership-Maureen McManus
 29 members have gone inactive or resigned (2)
 12 inactive members have reactivated
 694 members have paid invoices
 August memberships are at 141
 Extended seasons sold
 More invites going out soon
 Pass discussion
 Any ideas on managing wait list / new membership policies…please forward
to Maureen and committee will address.
Facilities & Amenities Update-Mike Maleski
 Clubhouse floor issue of wear continues. Discussion between GC and another
(concrete) company to find out next move. Temple Hall has also experienced
this same issue, and it (hopefully) currently being resolved. Braswell/RKtects
also installed the floor in the Temple Hall of barn space.
 Some planting remains
 Some concrete (drainage) repairs still outstanding



New Member Management System-Grant Yoder
 Jonas System, EZ Facility is affordable, does not require long term
commitment; WGCC uses; all agreed to call company with specific questions
and move forward
Swim Team
 Registration is open
 Schedules are in


Communications-Baman Rusby
 Email blast to general membership will go out in a day or so

 Sychro rep still needed
 This year, regular emails – info to Bauman by Friday at noon.
 New website is running parallel, need to decide when to pull the plug on old site
Clubhouse
 Working on planning of Session 2 of Fitness @ OVL for summer
Noise Ordinance-Chris Flynn
 Proposed amendments reasonable to objective standard. This could cause issues
for meets and events. Tonight/s meeting was to vote to advertise the new rules
w/o exemptions for pools. County already exempts its own events.
Board decided to table it gathering language that may exempt pools. It was not
sent out in its current language (yea!). Arlington Forest, Donaldson Run, and
Overlee had reps present. April 12th is next action.
Human Resources
 Opening procedures will begin second week in April (draining, cleaning, filling of
pools)
 140 apps, approximated 80 will be hired.
 April 1st-hiring notices will be sent
 All Managers have been hired
Food Truck
 Arlington County clarifying food truck rules
The meeting was adjourned at 10:24pm
The next Board Meeting is April 8th at 7:30 pm
