We focused on heart-healthy foods by discussing the importance of fruits and vegetables as well as making good choices when it comes to fueling our bodies. Next week, I will be giving students an optional challenge to complete at home. This challenge encourages students and families to jump or move everyday throughout the month of February. Our Jump Rope for Heart event is on February 7th. Looking forward to a fun and active day! From the Art Room Fifth graders are busy getting their hands gooey with paper mache paste, to make a mask. They already applied a base layer of newspaper on a face armature. For the next layer, they will be adding features, of choice, such as horns, big ears, noses, or trunks. Finally, they will apply paint and embellishments. The masks will be displayed at Art Fest. From the Music Room The Variety Show notices have gone out and we are looking forward to an amazing showcase of talents. We will have a “preshow” rehearsal for each class on January 27th and January 30th. Please have your talents ready by then so you can show us what you got!
