Under 16s Division 1
A big game at the top of the table saw the two unbeaten teams – Ashmore Park
Rangers and Silverdale Strikers – come together at APR’s ground, and as befitted the
fine form both teams have been in, a close game was settled by the odd goal as
Silverdale won 3-2. Strikers’ Jack Plant scored two and Jack Powers grabbed the
other. Sam Booth and Bradley Shinton were on taregt for APR, who still lead the
table on 18 points, but Silverdale are now just three points behind with two games
in hand.
Bottom of the table Sedgley White Lions took on third-in-the-table Bloxwich Rangers
and the two teams fought out a 2-2 draw with Jack Glasby scoring both of Sedgley’s
goals and Callum Golder and Lewis Doyle hitting the net for Bloxwich who remain in
third place on eight points.
The final game in this division was another draw played out between St Joseph’s
Saints and Silverdale Spartans ending 1-1. Connor Garrett scored the Spartans goal.

the table but were held 1-1. Armend Tora scored the Phoenix goal and Gabriel Trych

Under 16s Jim Rickuss League Cup
A first round five-goal thriller resulted when Woden Warriors went to Wyrley Juniors
Colts. The home side’s Matt Hughes scored both of this team’s goals, but strikes
from Connor Bottley, Joshua Zyberi and Billy Young ensured the Warriors progressed
to the next round.
Under 16s County Cup
Great Barr Harriers represented the BPYFL in the Birmingham County Cup but were
muscled out of the competition by Boldmer who won 6-2. On target for Great Barr
were Cain Dicken and Daniel Szollosy.
Under 17s Division
In this division the top two were both in action and both won to maintain their
respective unbeaten records. AFC Bilston made sure they held onto top spot by
beating Questlett Crusaders 7-2 at home. The Bilston goalscorers included a double
of doubles from Summers and Kumar, whilst Ledwige, Saroy and Hodgson chipped
in with one each. Queslett’s target-men were Peace and Eghan.
Wood Green kept up their pursuit of AFC Bilston with a home win of their own, 2-1
against Great Barr Harriers who had Kermal Campbell hit the net, only for the goal
to be cancelled out by strikes from Wood Green’s Josh O’Toole and Rajan Natt
Singh.
Punjab Utd were close to their first points of the season but were edged out 1-2 at
home to Gunners FC who had Jordan Parker and Harry Jones hit the net. The Punjab
goal came from Ajaree Brown.
So those results see AFC Bilston top with 16 points from six games, closely followed
by Wood Green Athletic three points behind but with a game in hand. Queslett
Crusaders sit a further four behind in third place.
Under 19s Charity Cup Group
The round-robin phase of this competition got underway this week seeing five
games played, all of which produced a winner.
The tightest game came at Great Barr Harriers Athletic who welcomed Wednesfield
FC and ran out 3-2 winners. Eldair Ngoma (2) and Oliver Hollyhead did the damage
for Great Barr but Ben Styles’ and Jordan Lovell’s goals for Wednesfield made a
game of it.
A high-scoring yet close game at Brocton FC as the home side went down 4-6 to
Coven Utd. Hero-of-the-hour-and-a-half for Coven was Charlie Swingwood who
scored five and his team mate Jack Tonks bagged the other. Four players found the
net for Brocton: Will Trotman, William Colclough, Patrick O’Connor and Joshua
Wilson.
League leaders Bloxwich Town kept up their fine form beating visitors Penkridge FC
5-1 thanks to goals from Luke Oakley (2), James McGrady (2) and Thomas Hill. Tom
Sabin grabbed the Penkridge goal.
Great Barr United are having a tough old time in the league and unfortunately their
luck didn’t change in this competition as they were trounced at home by Cheslyn
Hay 18-0. Six players scored hat-tricks for the victors – Edward Pomroy, Kenan
Kenner, Dyllan Hill, Rob Smith, Jarrod Hazel and Nick Gray.
Bloxwich Rangers who are also struggling in the league travelled to high-flying Old
Hall Eagles and similarly to Great Barr United, a change in competition bought no
change in fortunes. Old Hall romped home 13-1 having Chine Sum Numeric, Michael
Nana, and Nathan Griffiths each hit a hat-trick, with Joseph Lovatt, Lewis Green,
Simms Sibande and our old friend OG scoring one apiece. The Bloxwich consolation
came from Reece Berry.

League leaders Penkridge FC made it six wins from seven with a resounding 11-0
home win over Shere Punjab. Matt Smith topped the charts with four, Tom Pickford
had to settle for three, Greg Marshall banged in two, and Tom Edge and OG rounded
off the scoring.

who welcomed Wyrley Juniors. The two teams were equals all the way finishing with
a 2-2 draw and thus both achieving their first point of the season. On target for Penn
was Benjamin Whittaker who scored both of this team’s goals, while Thomas Hendry
and Scott Gill found the net for Wyrley.
