Digital Story Maker: Many of you have briefly used this site in technology class! Come join me for a whole hour each week to make your own stories online. On this site, you can add animations and emotions to your characters as well as change backgrounds for settings. This fun website let’s you move characters on the screen and write creative interactive stories online! Best of all, the website is free and you can use it anytime at home too! Stop Motion Movie Making- In this enrichment, students will work in teams to make their own stop motion movies! Students will use materials such as, clay and paper to make characters and scenes for their movies. They will then use the IPads to make their characters come to life! Scrapbooking the Massachusetts Project – Last call for the scrapbooking enrichment that will help you get your third grade project off to a great start. I will share scrapbooking materials and tools with you. I have Massachusetts information literature too. Join with other Grade 3 students work on this. Are you looking for some cute ideas to try or want to add some glam and glitter to your nails? Would you like to decorate your nails for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day? Come experiment with a variety of fun colors, designs, and bling while listening to music and chatting with your friends! Have your nails done on Monday afternoon and show them off all week! Magic Tree House Book Club - If your first or second grader loves Magic Tree House books, this is the enrichment for them! Each week we will discuss a different Magic Tree House book and do a related activity. Activities may include word searches and crosswords, games or coloring. I will try to locate enough books for children who would like to read the chosen book before the club meets. Yoga 2 – Let's Yoga some more! If your child has already taken a yoga class with me then this is the next class to take. In this class, we will practice the poses we have already learned and get ready to learn some new ones. We will still do all the fun things we did before and more. Well this is your chance!!! We will be learning Pointillism, which is an artistic technique that uses tiny dots of color to create a depth of light. In this class, we will use the free website builder Weebly to learn how to create a personalized website that is all your own. Fuel Up to Play 60 - It’s a before school fitness and breakfast program geared towards Fuel Up to Play 60. Eating breakfast and being physically active helps students learn and get better grades in school. Come join us for a good time. Music Video Production- Have you ever wished you could make your own music video? Well, now you can produce and star in your very own music video like Shawn Mendes or Taylor Swift! Students will work in groups of their choosing to create their music videos. They will pick a song to perform, design costumes, props, and scenery, practice their video, and then perform it. As a KAY (Kidding Around Yoga) teacher I'm excited to be able to share yoga at school. KAY is an amazing curriculum designed to motivate children to be active, build confidence and manage the spectrum of emotions that they experience in their day-to-day activities. In this class, we will learn many yoga poses and breathing techniques. We will play games, learn songs, and do short meditations. The extra $5 enrollment fee is for materials to make eye pillows to be use during relaxation time. Please make sure your child brings a mat to class. Also any snacks should be peanut-free. Coding Club!-Come join the Coding Club! Students in grades 1 - 4 will spend 7 weeks guided through coding programming sites such as Tynker, Hour of Code, Scratch and other coding activities. During our class time, we will visit these programing sites exploring and solving coding activities. Students will gain a better understanding of what computer coding is and increase their problem solving skills by working though coding challenges together. Friday Fingerprint Fun-Come join us Friday mornings when we will have fun exploring the art and books of Ed Emberley. He created such books as Fingerprint Drawing Book, Great Thumbprint Drawing Book, Drummer Hoff, and Drawing Book of Weirdos. Mostly we will be making creatures with our fingerprints, but we may do some other drawing and coloring activities inspired by Ed Emberley, as well. Washable inkpads and markers will be used.
