GLOBAL EDUHUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 (校际分龄羽毛球比赛 2017) It is with pleasure that World-Champ Distributor (“The Organizer”) invites players to participate in the Global Eduhub Championships 2017 from 13 March (Monday) to 19 March 2017 (Sunday). This tournament is sanctioned by the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) as part of the Age Group Series. Tournament schedules will not be mailed to participants; participants will have to check the tournament website for updates of schedules. 1. ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS 1.1. This tournament is opened to all Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreigners residing and studying in Singapore. 1.2. Overseas participation is also allowed in all categories. 1.3. Players must submit a photocopy of their ID/Student Pass/Passport with their cheque payment for verification. 1.4. Age qualification shall be based on the following: Age Group Birth Year Age in 2017 Under – 9 Born in 2009 or later 8 years old or younger Under – 11 Born in 2008/2007 or later 10 years old or younger Under – 13 Born in 2006/2005 or later 12 years old or younger Under – 15 Born in 2004/2003 or later 14 years old or younger Under – 17 Born in 2002/2001 or later 16 years old or younger Under – 19 Born in 1999/2000 or later 18 years old or younger 1.5. A player can participate in his/her age group category or a higher age group category but NOT in a lower age group category. (E.g. A player 14 years of age in 2017 is eligible to participate in the U-15 / U-17 / U-19 Singles and Doubles events) 1.6. Organizers may request evidence of eligibility during the tournament. Any player found ineligible will NOT be allowed to play and the player will have to concede walkover for that match. There will be NO refund of entry fee. 2. ENTRY & REGISTRATION 2.1. Each player is allowed to enter a maximum of 4 events. More specifically, each player can enter up to TWO Singles and TWO Doubles events, either within their age group or higher. 2.2. The registration fees for each event are as follows (inclusive of GST): 2.2.1. Singles – S$53.50 per entry 2.2.2. Doubles – S$107.00 per pair 2.3. Payment for the registration fee is accepted in cash or by cheque and is non-refundable. 2.4. Closing date for registration is on Friday, 17 February 2017. Registration without payment is deemed as incomplete. Late and incomplete entries will NOT be entertained. Bounced cheques will result in entries being voided. 2.5. All cheques to be made payable to “World-Champ Distributor” and crossed “A/C Payee only”. A minimum of 16 entries per event will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to conduct qualifying round if it decides to accept more than 64 entries. 2.7. List of participants will be released on 28 February 2017. The Organizer will conduct draws on 3 March 2017. 2.8. The above information stated in 2.7 will be released on the tournament website and announced on our official Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/victorsport.sg. 2.9. Seeding will be based on Pilot Pen Championships 2016 and Global EduHub Championships 2016. 2.10.In the event of insufficient entries for any event (i.e. less than 16 entries), the event/s may be merged with the same event of another age category. 2.11.If there are less than 16 entries in any event, the prize money/ prizes for that event may be reduced. 2.12.The prize money will be determined by World-Champ Distributor, the organizer for this tournament. 3. TOURNAMENT FORMAT 3.1. The tournament will be a single knockout format for all events. 4. TOURNAMENT RULES 4.1. The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the current Badminton World Federation (BWF) rules. 4.2. All matches will be played in accordance with the schedule of play. Postponement of any matches will be at the Organizing Committee’s discretion. 4.3. All players are required to bring along their photo identification documents for verification on days of their matches. 4.4. Once entries have been accepted, no replacement/substitution of players will be entertained. However, the Organizing Committee, at its discretion, reserves the right to accept such changes if necessary and with valid reasons, so long as no match has been played by the player/s. 4.5. All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their matches. 4.6. Players will be given a grace period of a maximum 5 minutes for all matches, failing which the player will concede a walkover for that particular match. 4.7. In the event that both players fail to turn up, the match will be scratched. 4.8. Players shall wear non-marking shoes during the competition. 4.9. The competition format will be based on the best of 3 games of 21 points (new point system) for all categories. 4.10.Players are given a minimum of 30 minutes rest period before commencement of the next match at any round (including semis & finals). 4.11.The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final. 4.12.Players are required to stay on the court AFTER their match had ended, to act as line judges for the following match. Players who fail to do so will lead to a disqualification and/or ban from future tournaments. Players may also be called randomly to act as line judges for the 1st round of matched for the session. 4.13.There will be line judges provided from the finals onwards. 4.14.From quarter-finals onwards, all doubles pairs are required to wear attire of at least the same color, if not exactly the same design and color. 4.15.The Organizing Committee has the right to amend the rules & regulations prior to the commencement of the event. 5. PRIZE & INCENTIVES 5.1. Total incentives in the form of cash/vouchers/rackets worth $22,000 to be awarded to prize winners. The results of this tournament will be used by SBA to invite players for selection trials into the National Intermediate Squad (NIS) and/or to participate in international age group tournaments. Selection criteria are at the sole discretion of SBA. 5.3. Prizes winners are required to attend the prize presentation ceremony in proper sporting attire. NO singlet or slippers are allowed. 5.4. Prizes winners are to proceed to the tournament table after the prize presentation ceremony to collect their cash prize money. 5.5. Prizes money will be reduced accordingly depending on the number of entries. 6. REFUND POLICY 6.1. Unless the Organizing Committee cancels the event, there will be no refund of the entry fees. 7. INDEMNITY 7.1. While reasonable precautions will be taken, the organizer will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss of property or any other loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this tournament. 7.2. The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Terms & Conditions set out in this prospectus at its sole discretion without prior notice.
