Peninsula Waves VNL & Peninsula Elite Netball - 2017 Coaching Positions
All coaching positions have been declared open for the 2017 season. Applications for 2017 coaching positions close
at 5pm Friday September 9 2016.
All positions are responsible to the Peninsula Waves Head Coach.

Team coach and assistant coaches will be appointed to each of the following teams:
Peninsula Waves VNL Teams:
Championship Division
Division 1
19/U Division
Peninsula Elite Netball (PEN) Development Teams:
PEN 1
PEN 2
PEN 3

The appointed team coach will oversee the training program for the team and will be supported at
all training sessions by the assistant coach.
Note: Successful applicants will be required to attend team selection trials for their team.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications must include:

A fully completed Coaching Application form.

Nomination of preferred coaching role.

Resume outlining coaching and playing experience

Names and contact details of two (2) referees.
Note: Successful applicants will be required to undergo screening in accordance with the Netball Victoria
Member Protection Regulation prior to appointment. Screening will comprise a Working with Children Check.
Selection Criteria:

Current Netball Victoria registration.

Netball Victoria coaching accreditation.

Current Police/Working with Children Check.

Previous demonstrated successful coaching of teams at Representative Team, Zone Academy, VNL or State
level.

Ability to meet the work requirements and responsibilities, attendance and reporting requirements
as outlined in this position description.

Commensurate with coaching experience, qualifications, performance and Club
budget.

WORK REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate as a member of the team Selection Panel for your appointed team.

Develop an understanding of and adhere to the criteria and guidelines documented in the
Peninsula Waves team selection policy.

Adhere to all Peninsula Waves Club policies and guidelines.

Develop the team training program including skill development sessions, fitness and conditioning
sessions and recovery sessions in line with the overarching Peninsula Waves direction.

Provide coaching instruction to team members in the areas of technique, specialist positional skills
and team skills.

Identify and maximise underlying potential to deliver long term growth in individual athletes.

Evaluate and assess individual and team performance, ensuring individuals are
appropriately challenged, and provided with constructive feedback.

Take appropriate action to ensure that underperformance is effectively dealt with.

Develop, implement and adapt match play strategies in line with the club’s strategy.

Team coaches will supervise and mentor assistant coaches in both the training and
competition environment.

Communicate clearly, concisely and with a high level of integrity to both the player and
parent group.
