The Fall of Man
We believe the Scriptures teach that Man was
created in holiness, under the law of his Maker;
but by voluntary transgressions fell from that
holy and happy state; in consequence of which
all mankind are now sinners, not by constraint
but choice; being by nature utterly void of that
holiness required by the law of God, positively
inclined to evil; and therefore under just
condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense
or excuse.

food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one
wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with
her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they
knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and
made themselves coverings.”

also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of
wrath, just as the others.”

Romans 3:9-18 “9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all.
For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all
under sin. 10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; 11
There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one." 13 "Their throat is an
open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit"; "The
poison of asps is under their lips"; 14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing
and bitterness." 15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction
and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not
known." 18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

The Fall of Man
Romans 2:1-11 “1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are
who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you
who judge practice the same things. 2 But we know that the judgment of God
is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you
think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the
same, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you despise the
riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the
goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But in accordance with your
hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in
the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will
render to each one according to his deeds": 7 eternal life to those who by
patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but
to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness -- indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every
soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory,
honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and
also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. “

Romans 2:12-16 “12 For as many as have sinned without law will also
perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged
by the law 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of
God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles,
who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these,
although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the
work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing
witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else
excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men
by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.”

Galatians 3:10 “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the
curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things
which are written in the book of the law, to do them."
Ezekiel 18:19-20 “19 "Yet you say, 'Why should the son not bear the guilt of
the father?' Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all
My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live. 20 The soul who sins shall
die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt
of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the
wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”
Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal
power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”
Romans 3:19 “Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those
who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world
may become guilty before God. “
Galatians 3:22 “But the Scripture has confined all under sin …”
