We wish everyone a healthy and productive 2015. January 12-23 Registration for Fall 2015 for current families Thank you to everyone who participated in our Holiday Show. It was huge success and the children were so cute! January 23- Progress Reports go home. These next two months are very busy for everyone. The front office is registering students for Fall 2015. Be sure to adhere to the deadline and secure your spot. PTO is hosting a Family Picnic and awarding teacher mini grants. January 26-30 Parent Conference Week January- 30- Spirit Day (No Uniform Day). Wear your favorite Sport Team Shirt February 16- Tree Top is CLOSED for a Professional Development Day. Tree Top Family Picnic Save the date for our Annual Tree Top Family Picnic at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday, March 8 from 11:00-1:00pm. This is a great event to come to and meet other Tree Top families and see the animals. The volunteers at the sanctuary will host an animal show just for us that day too! She is one of our older 2’s/young 3’s teachers. Here is our Q & A results… How long have you been in field of education? 4 years What degree(s) do you hold? I have a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation. I also have my Florida Professional Teaching Certification for age 3- grade 3. What are your hobbies? Nature walks, kayaking, reading, and ice skating. What is your favorite food? I like trying new ethnic food. What is your dream vacation? To travel back to Ireland. Our next Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 5:30 please come and get involved! If you have any questions please contact Cassandra Keller @ [email protected] Community News The Jupiter Jubilee will be on Saturday, February 7, 2014 • 11:00-5:00 at the Jupiter Community Center. This is an annual community event put on by the Town of Jupiter for area residents. The Jubilee typically has entertainment, civic, educational, and cultural components. Two of our 2’s teachers traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to attend a conference on Reggio Emilia. Another three teachers went to the FAU Karen Slattery Education Research Center to learn about the Project Approach. At the end of the month we will have two of our VPK teachers travel to Orlando to attend the annual Florida Kindergarten Council conference. underestimate the value of play. 2. Play is healthy. Play helps children grow strong and healthy. It also counteracts obesity issues facing many children today. 3. Play reduces stress. Play helps your children grow emotionally. It is joyful and provides an outlet for anxiety and stress. 5. Make time for play. As parents, you are the biggest supporters of your children’s learning. You can make sure they have as much time to play as possible during the day to promote cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development. 6. Play and learning go hand-in-hand.
