OVERVIEW
About the Sirens
Ice Hockey is an action packed, family orientated spectator sport, also known as the fastest sport in the world. The Australian Women’s Ice
Hockey League (AWIHL) is the pinnacle of women’s hockey in Australia, incorporating teams from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and
Sydney. The AWIHL has been in existence for just under a decade, and the Sydney Sirens have consistently shown dominance on the ice. The
majority of the Sydney Sirens team members have also played for the National Women’s Team, a clear indication of our strength.
The 2015-16 season of the AWIHL will run from October through to February and our mission is to be best team in the AWIHL and to lift the
Joan McKowen Trophy at the end of the season. This year the Sirens will call Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink home, with 6 homes games in
Sydney and 6 away games played Melbourne, Brisbane & Adelaide.

The 2015/16 promises lots more opportunity for our partners with the Sirens continuing
