The coordinates of a point on the Cartesian plane form an ordered pair, (x , y).
Opening Activity:

Read page 80 and use it to fill in the boxes on the given diagram.
A relation is a pattern that connects two sets of data.
A linear relation will be a straight line when graphed.
When each x-value has only one corresponding y-value, the relation is called a function. When graphed, a function will touch any
vertical line only once.
