Became Hunslet Nelson in 1869
The last remaining cricket club in South Leeds
Runs 3 senior and 6 junior teams
Coaches cricket in the community as well as in
local primary and high schools
Founded under 9’s cricket in Yorkshire
Hosts 3 annual junior cricket festivals and
representative and regional finals
Played at our current ground since 2000
Self funding cricket club staffed by enthusiastic
volunteers

Acquired lease for ground from Leeds Schools Sports’ Association
Started work on improving ground and its perimeter fencing

Removed arson damaged clubhouse and purchased portable classroom
Converted portable classroom into 3 changing rooms
Acquired Pump House lease from Yorkshire Water and converted into tea room
Continued ground improvements
Built portable scorebox and continued ground improvements
Continued ground improvements – won league ground award 1st time
Achieved England & Wales Cricket Board Focus Club & Club Mark status

Achieved ECB Chance to Shine status – coaching in state schools
Constructed 3 bay practice area and 3 mobile pitch covers
Continued ground improvements – won league ground award 2nd time
Removed 40 established but dangerous trees, planted 40 new trees and 350 bushes

Purchased portable office, converted to 3 changing rooms, storage area and disabled toilet
