NEWSLETTER August 2009 The season is drawing to a close and we trust you have all had an enjoyable time, playing, coaching, umpiring or supporting. It is time to celebrate. PRIZE GIVING When: Sunday 6 September 2009 Where: Burnside Rugby Football Clubrooms, Burnside Park, entrance off Avonhead Road Time: Junior 2pm to 4pm for U12, U13, U14, U15 grades Senior 4.30pm to 6pm for Premier, Senior, Senior Reserve, 2A, 2B, U19, U17 grades Cost: $2 per person We welcome everyone along to recognize and celebrate our netball achievements. Food and some drinks are provided. Other refreshments will be available to purchase. Please tell your coach how many of you will attend so we can get the food right!. AGM This is held in conjunction with the Junior Prize Giving. Of the current 9 committee members, three have indicated that they will be retiring at this AGM. Obviously we are on the lookout for some more people to join us. Generally we meet once a month from January to September. We enjoy the usual discussions and make the decisions that affect what happens to your daughter and her netball team. We would love to hear from any of you interested in joining us for next season, particularly from parents of the junior grades. RETURNING YOUR STUFF All players are required to return their playing bag and jacket to their coach in good and clean condition. Any player not returning their gear will be considered unfinancial and will be ineligible to play netball in 2010 for any club until the gear is returned in good condition or satisfactory reimbursement is made to Technical. Coaches should ensure that the player bags and jackets are returned along with the team gear bag on Prize Giving day. The Technical Netball Club is offering financial assistance to players who would like to improve their netball skill level. Marg Foster, a former Silver Fern, is the founder of the Motivationz Netball Academy. Full details of her credentials and offerings can be found at www.motivationz.co.nz . Dates for summer/2010 courses have not yet been finalized but we are seeking applications from players who may be interested as we are very keen to support player development. We will provide 1 fully subsidised place on a course, and 5 half-subsidised places.
