Why have a 2000-Watt Site certificate?
Former focus inadequate for communities of the future
The certificate broadens the focus to encompass the:
 Site rather than individual buildings
→ Quality of density and mixed usage
→ Network use (supplies, production, storage)
→ Mobility issues
 Overall performance rather than operating energy
→ incl. construction (grey energy) and mobility
 Operating phase, instead of just construction phase

Criteria for certification
 The site municipality is a certified Energy City
 An authorized site association is Energy City’s
counterpart
 Clearly defined spatial perimeter with several buildings
connected by an outdoor space
 High-quality site
 Minimum size of approx. 10,000 sq.m. surface area
(1 ha) or floor space
