Match of Minds Summer 2017 MATCH OF MINDS Application Form Summer 2016 Deadline: Friday, March 17, 2017 Applications submitted to: [email protected] The Match of Minds program provides up to $5,000 for a maximum of 16 weeks for a researcher to provide an employment opportunity for a student. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: A Brock faculty member or staff member must complete this form and submit by the deadline highlighted above. The Faculty member applying for Match of Minds funding must provide a letter of support that indicates how they feel the student would benefit from the program. The student must also include a letter indicating what they hope to gain from the experience of working with a Faculty member. The following activities are eligible to be funded under the Match of Minds program: 1. Provide support for an incoming undergraduate student for a research assistant position. 2. Provide support for a non-term research assistant position for undergraduate students. 3. Provide funding for graduate students to gain skills that will improve their employability in the chosen field. 4. Provide funding for students (undergraduate or graduate) to develop a commercial enterprise. 5. Student employment must be held within a recognized Brock site. Funding will not be provided for students working at external companies or agencies. The funds must be used for salary and benefits of a student Research Assistant and must be paid through the University payroll system as part of a contract or a timesheet authorization. All research conducted under this funding must comply with all human ethics, Animal Care, Biosafety and other applicable protocols. I agree that the general conditions governing spending covered by the policies and procedures of Brock University apply to this application for funding from the Match of Minds program.
