a first-time student.
Adams Jones
While growing up in Southeast San Diego, Jones excelled at football, basketball and baseball.
Jones graduated from Morse High School in 2003 after leading his high school team as both a
pitcher and a shortstop. Jones currently plays for the Baltimore Orioles as Center Fielder.
Jones was just named the 2015 Marvin Miller Man of the Year by the Major League
Baseball Players Association. The award recognizes one player for his combination of on-field
performance and community dedication. This year, Jones has been presented with a Governor's
Service Award by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and at the Legends for Youth dinner in New
York City he received the MLB Players Association's Brooks Robinson Community Service
Award for bettering the lives of youth in a community — an honor named after the Orioles Hall
of Fame third baseman. Jones has also been the Orioles nominee for MLB's top humanitarian
honor, the Roberto Clemente Award, in 2013 and 2011. In 2011, he won The Baltimore Sun
Media Group's Tim Wheatley Award, presented to a Baltimore-area athlete that gives back to the
community.
Quintin Berry
Born in San Diego, Berry Quintin played baseball, football and basketball at Morse High
School in San Diego. Berry played one season of baseball at Grossmont Junior College
before moving on to San Diego State University (SDSU). Berry's head coach at SDSU
was former major leaguer and Baseball Hall of Fame member Tony Gwynn.[2] He was
named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team in 2005 and the second team in
2006. Berry has played for the Chicago Red Sox, the Detroit Tigers, and the
Chicago Cubs.
