AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT FOR GRADES 3-6
Beginning week of January 12 – Semester 2
What is being offered?
Monday: Crack the Code – Teacher: Lara Hotaling: Students will continue to learn to use
“code,” a computer programming language, to build technical skills. For more information,

Tuesday: Taylor School Band- Teacher: Lauren Smith: Students will choose an instrument, take
lessons and practice in the first semester, and then join together into a band in the second
semester.
Thursday: Zumba- Teacher: Emma Pedrin: Students will immerse themselves in culture of Latin
Dance and Spanish.
Thursday: Chess Club – Teacher: Arlen Johnson and Darren Scott: Mr. Johnson and Mr. Scott
will teach students in grades 3-6 how to play chess. Chess Club begins Thursday, January 22nd.
Friday: Ski Club – Registration is closed.
Important Information:




The classes will run January 12- May 29. Classes will be offered on all days that school is
in session.
At this time, we are registering for Semester 2. A minimum number of students is
required for each class. Classes that do not meet the minimum number will be
cancelled.
Families can add Extended Day classes to their Tuition Management System account and
pay for it monthly. Students who are in the five day aftercare program can participate
in Extended Day with an adjustment to their account.

*** COMING IN MARCH ***** MAKE IT MOVE – LOVE LEGOs? Make them move using
motors, sensors and computer programming! Students will explore a series of cross-circular,
theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics as well as language, literacy and social studies. After construction, students
will use the software to program, design and create a working model using levers, gears,
pulleys, and transmission of motion. STEM education comes to life!
