Tournament Guidelines
Tournament Format:
1.
12-team tournament; 2 brackets*
a. Single round-robin; each team will play against all of its five (5) opponents in their respective bracket once in the
elimination round.
b. The top 4 teams per bracket in the elimination round will advance to the crossover Quarter-finals knock-out: 1A vs
4B, 1B vs 4A, 2A vs 3B, 2B vs 3A.
c. The winners will advance to the Semi-finals knock-out.
d. The semi-final winners will then advance to the finals in a best-of-three final series.

Player Eligibility:

Open to all companies and/or businesses based in the Makati Central Business District.
Players must be a certified employee of that Makati CBD Company and/or business to be eligible to play. Merging of two
corporate teams is subject to approval by the commissioner.
3. Certificate of Employment, Company Identification, and/or ITR will be required.
4. Once the tournament has started, additional players will not be accepted, unless otherwise approved by the commissioner.
5. Players coming from the team’s conglomerate/sister company, as well as project-based, contractual, and consultant
employees will not be allowed to play, unless otherwise approved by the commissioner.
6. No current professional, amateur, and collegiate basketball players.
7. No former professional basketball players.
8. The committee has the right to allow/deny players depending on the team’s strength or tournament’s level of competition even
if the tournament is ongoing. This specifically applies to players 6’0 and above, and former collegiate varsity players.
9. The committee has the right to place a handicap per team (e.g. only 2 out of the 4 mentioned players can be on the floor at the
same time), depending on the team’s strength or tournament’s level of competition even if the tournament is ongoing. This
handicap, however, may be lifted at any time during the tournament.
10. Any inaccurate information placed below will strictly be subject to forfeiture of the games and/or commissioner’s penalty where
the players with incorrect information were fielded.

Twenty-Six Thousand Pesos (PHP 26,000.00), inclusive of a refundable deposit amount of Three Thousand Pesos (PHP
3,000.00) in case team defaults and/or technical/unsportsmanlike fouls are incurred during the season.

Billing statement will be provided upon request. Official receipt will be issued upon full payment.
*Tournament format may change based on the number of teams joining. Once the teams have been finalized, complete information regarding the format,
schedule, and venue will be provided.

Please note that a team may register a maximum of 20 players. However, a player who misses all of his elimination games will not be
allowed to play in the playoffs, even if he is registered.

All teams are required to submit the following documents no later than July 2, 2017.
a. Accomplished registration form (in word/excel format) complete with details above.
b. Proof of payment worth Twenty-Six Thousand Pesos (PHP 26,000.00).
c. For installments, contact 0906-0266347 (Lester Villegas). A minimum of Ten Thousand pesos (PHP 10,000.00) may
be settled to secure a slot (non-refundable).
d. Availing of team uniforms from any of the official outfitters entitles the team to One (1) FREE Kings of the Court shirt

e. Government-issued ID, Company ID or any proof of identification of all listed players
f. Accomplished and signed waiver form.

Professional leagues wear these types of uniforms locally and around the world, specifically the NCAA in the
United States.
