What Are We Learning?
Wow! I can’t believe it is already the last day of
September! This year is flying by! This week, we
are continuing our study of sight words by
reviewing the words me, the, I, and go and
learning the word a. We will read our poem of the
week, Little Fishes in a Brook, and search for the
word a in it. We will also be searching for our
sight words around our classroom and the
building. During our literacy block, we will be
continuing to participate in centers focused on
letters, the sounds letters make, and our names.
Small groups will get the chance to work with me
on letters and sounds. We will be continuing to
work on our handwriting by learning the verbal
pathways of letters and how to write them. In
addition, we will be making fall word books and
putting our handwriting practice to good use. In
math, we will be working on learning the terms
more than, fewer than, and the same as and will
be introduced to the number zero. We will
continue to play the name game and pick a
student each day to make an All About Me book
for. Have a great week! 
