CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Contest Registration Period: To participate in the EcoKids Battery Busters: Waste Reduction Week Contest, schools must register for (2) two Call2Recycle battery collection boxes online on the contest page from September 15 – 30 2016. 2. Contest and Collection Period: The EcoKids Battery Busters: Waste Reduction Week Contest collection period runs from October 17 – 23, 2016. Battery collection boxes must be scheduled for pickup on or before October 28, 2016 and returned to Call2Recycle, and creative entries must be submitted online on the contest page by October 28, 2016. 3. Eligibility Criteria: a) Must be an elementary or secondary school located in Canada 4. Participation Criteria: a) Battery collection boxes must be scheduled for pickup on or before by October 28, 2016, and creative entries submitted online by October 28, 2016 b) Contest entries must be submitted by a school employee with the approval of the school’s principal c) Only (1) one entry per school is permitted d) Only single-use and rechargeable household batteries (weighing up to 5kg each) will be accepted e) Only batteries in Call2Recycle collection boxes will be accepted 5. To Participate: a) To participate in the EcoKids Battery Busters: Waste Reduction Week Contest, register for (2) two Call2Recycle battery collection boxes online on the contest page from September 15 – 30, 2016. Battery collection boxes will arrive at participating schools by October 17, 2016. b) From October 17 – 23, 2016 collect used single-use and rechargeable batteries (weighing up to 5kg each) by establishing an exciting and creative battery recycling campaign. c) At the end of the campaign, battery collection boxes must be scheduled for pickup on or before October 28, 2016 and returned to Call2Recycle, and creative entries must be submitted online on the contest page by October 28, 2016. 6. Prizes: There are (4) four prizes, (1) one for most batteries collected, (1) one for most batteries collected per capita (weight/school population) and (1) one for creativity, (1) one random draw. a) The school that collects the most batteries overall will receive a $1,500 prize b) The school that collects the most batteries (total weight divided by school population) will receive a $1,500 prize c) The school with the most creative collection display will receive a $1,500 prize (as determined by a panel of judges) d) One school to be selected as a participation winner by random draw will receive $1,000 7. Decision Date: The (4) four winners of the Contest will be notified in November, 2016. 8. General Rules: By participating in the Contest, participants agree to abide by these Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle, which are final. All participants release and forever discharge Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle, their advertising and promotional agencies, and their respective affiliated companies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from all claims, demands, damages, actions and cases of action arising or to arise by reason of their participation in the Contest and/or the administration of the Contest, including, without limitation, the selection and awarding of prizes. Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle shall in no way bear any liability whatsoever regarding any of the entries/Prizes. In no event shall Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle be liable for any special, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with this Contest and/or the Prizes, however arising, including negligence. 9. Disqualification: Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable mailing service or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer or telephone transmissions or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspects of this Contest, as determined by Earth Day Canada will be disqualified. 10. Privacy: By participating in this Contest, you consent to the collection, use and sharing of information about you and your school by Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle for the purpose of administering this Contest.
