DEFINITION & GOALS
 For the Let’s Work initiative, value chain surveys are intended as a tool for
ex ante jobs estimation
 Goals:
 Map existing structure of jobs (number, quality, inclusivity) in a
specified value chain
 Document extent and nature of relationships among actors in
the chain
 Expose differences across segments of firms in the chain
 Ultimately, provide a more comprehensive and nuanced
understanding of how changes in investment and/or output at
one of the chain impacts jobs throughout the chain
