Staging
• VECP available to modify construction staging and traffic handling
• Intersection of 5th and J St will need to be completed in 120 days,
but waterline can't be installed before September 2018.
• Demo contract underway and tank removal to follow

Bridge Construction
• Survey required before and after construction to ensure material is
not left in the floodplain
• Option to remove sidewalk on bridge to place final shaft
• Falsework for frame 2 can stay over winter
• Reinforcing for median barrier cannot be placed after the pour
• Temporary and permanent casings and construction methods
included in the cost of the shafts
• Backfill after bridge removal (included in the cost of removal)
• Limit of 3 precast girders on site, 56 hours before installation
• Bubble curtain requirements - needed for vibratory or impact
hammers, monitoring requirements apply

• All material in levee must be levee fill material
• Work window is April 15 to November 1
• No pile driving in levee
• Levees must be rebuilt with RSP in place by November 1

• Shoring is lump sum for 5th Street Bridge, 2nd Street UC and road
staging
• No winter suspension
• Time related overhead intentionally omitted from Bid items - no bid
item
• Price Index Fluctuation removed

Miscellaneous
• No access from the north on Biz Johnson Drive
• Use of the construction staging areas in the park/soccer complex
are limited to one season (August thru November). No staging area
outside of the bridge area can be utilized for more than 6 months
total in the park.
• Railroad flagging required by railroad when using equipment near
railroad bridge in Marysville.
• Parking lot and road repairs upon completion of work
• Concrete pavement between the approach slab is structural
concrete (approach slab)
