Contact Details
Please ensure that we have up to date contact information for you. This is vital if we need to
contact you in an emergency.
Sports Days
Thank you for understanding that it has been very difficult to schedule the Sports Days due
to weather. The irritating thing is that the weather seemed to improve after we made a
decision!
The children had a great morning on Thursday taking part in the carousel of events. The
children are organised in to house teams and after the morning competitions there was only
20 points separating the teams.
The races were a success and we will let you know which house is the overall winner. They
will be awarded a cup which will be on display throughout the year.
Twitter and Facebook
I urge you to follow us on twitter, which links to our Facebook site. It is an amazing way of
seeing what we are doing as it happens. We also send messages and it is important that you
know what is happening. Twitter is our primary avenue of communication and you need to
sign for an account and follow us. We posted our SATs results and there were only 4 likes,
whilst another school had 50 likes; this speaks of the volume of followers that we do not
have. GET ON TWITTER - it costs nothing and you don’t have to post anything.
Pirates Aboard
HMS St Joseph’s was boarded by pirates this week. They caused all sorts of mayhem.
Drinking rum, making people walk the plank, waving cutlasses around and to top it all, they
took over the hall and had a party. I think that they have gone now but I am concerned about
going into Reception as that is where I think they live. Two larger pirates were identified
during the nonsense; they were particularly ugly and are not to be approached under any
circumstances.
Mass
Wednesday 12th was originally to be a whole school mass but it will be led by Y5 and Y4 as
they missed out due to funerals. Please join them if you can.
A Tale of Murder and Ambition- the Scottish Play
'Can such things be
And overcome us like a summer’s cloud,
Without our special wonder?'
Please do all that you can to be at our performances of Macbeth next week; it really is the
most amazing musical performance of Shakespeare’s play. Don’t think that it is only for Year
6 parents. Our Year 6 and staff have worked so hard on this and it is vital that you see it.
DO NOT miss it!
Macbeth Production – 9.30am & 6pm Wednesday 12th July 2017 – Tickets priced at
£2 available from the school office
Reports
Annual reports are given out next Friday 14th July. Please ensure that you return the parent
and child’s comment slip. This is vital in order to establish that the report has arrived home
and to give us feedback for improvement. There is an opportunity on Monday 17 th July to
discuss the report with the class teacher between 3.30 and 6.00pm. Please ring to make an
appointment if required.

These results should make us incredibly proud as a school. It speaks of dedicated staff,
parents who are motivated to push their children and above all else of children who strive to
be better that their best. Some of the results are astounding and there have been many
hours of sacrifice put in on the part of pupils, parents and staff to achieve these results. This
in itself would be of note but I can assure you that these results have not been achieved at
the cost of a broad and balanced curriculum, (music and sport have remained high on the
agenda all year) but above all else this achievement is typified by humble and committed
staff and beautiful and driven young adults, who sought to do better than their best, and at no
point stopped caring for each other and fulfilling our Gospel values. Be rightfully proud of our
school, our pupils and our wonderful community.
