Parent Take-home Cards
Puggles program comes with a strong parent
component. Each week your child will be given a
Puggles Take-home Card which gives (five) daily
suggestions for you to help reinforce the lesson.
Children this age need a lot of review in order to
understand a concept. On the front of the Puggles
Take-home Card the weekly lesson is summarized. The
back of the card features five days of activities for you
to use to reinforce the Bible precept taught.

About the Puggles Program…
Awana Puggles is a weekly Bible-based club program for
preschoolers the year before Cubbies. Our purpose is to
help your children take their first little steps on a
lifelong spiritual journey.
Tips on How Parents Can Help
Reinforce the precept using your Take-home card
Establish a regular time to work with your child…morning and
evening
Bring your child to club on time and in uniform
-Find a special place at home to keep your child’s uniform, so
it can always be found on Puggles night.
-Be sure your child wears the uniform t-shirt to club.
-Bring your child to club on time, so we can begin and end
promptly. Be sure to come to the Puggles Room to pick up
your child after club.
Toilet Training
Please pack an extra set of clothes in case of an accident.
Take a turn supplying a snack
-You can help by providing a snack for the children in our
Puggles Club-this is a favorite part of the night.
-Suggestions will be given for a snack to fit the lesson
theme, or you may choose your own ideas. See snack chart
on the Puggle board to sign up. BE SURE TO AVOID ANY
PEANUT PRODUCTS DUE TO FOOD ALLERGIES!
THANK YOU!
In the Bible, parents are instructed to teach their
children about God’s ways…in routine activities…passing
along their faith, little by little, day by day. The Puggles
program is designed to help leaders and parents in this
critical role. We believe Puggles will help get your preCubbies age children off to a solid start on the orad to
someday coming to know, love, and serve the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Puggles learn simple lessons through teaching cards,
activities, music and more. Puggles is a tool to help
your toddlers continue to know about the Lord while
being surrounded with loving parents and leaders.
The children will learn four Bible precepts (the scripture
phrases that define each unit):
 God … made everything Genesis 1:1
 God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:10
 God is love. 1 John 4:8
 Give thanks. Psalm 105:1
Each unit has eight individual lessons that teach the
precept.

So what is a Puggle?
In the animal world, the word ‘puggle’ is sometimes
used to identify a baby platypus or a mixed breed dog
of pug and beagle. In Awana circles, it is the name of a
lovable baby platypus character.
Puggle is joined by his two friends; a koila named
Sydney and a kangaroo named Alice.
