Admissions Getting admitted to the college is always one of the most difficult processes (for me at least) on this journey. The reason being, the Hawaii Program has such a large scope of recruitment, almost no two students are alike in circumstance. So, the information I will give you here is general and basic, please be advised that while students in the past have had variable amounts of difficulties, ALL students have been successful in getting admitted to the college. There are few things I want you to be aware of before you read below. 1. If you are already a DCCCD student (any campus) you are exempt from this process please email me your student ID# 2. Once you are done with this process, please email me your student ID# 3. If you have any questions or difficulties email me or call me right away, I can really help you with this process (and I don’t have to wait in line in most cases!) 4. If applying, make sure you do so for the SPRING semester 5. If you are new to college please be aware that there is a Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement (http://www.dcccd.edu/Future%20Students/Admissions%20and%20Registration/Admission/Pages/Me ningitis.aspx) 6. If given the option, make sure that you check “For personal interest” as your reason for attending North Lake 7. Make sure you send in your required transcripts ASAP! 8. Summary: Email me your ID, be patient, let me help, and send in your official transcripts. You can apply the following ways. 1. Online Apply online using the eConnect Application for Credit Admissions. eConnect is a DCCCD Web service that lets you get personalized information and conduct business online. Please note: If you were formerly enrolled as a DCCCD credit student but have not registered within the past year, you must submit an updated admissions application. 2. In person Drop by the Admissions/Registrar’s Office at the college you wish to attend and complete an admissions application in person. What you will need Completed application If available, your official high school transcript, a copy of your diploma or a copy of your GED certificate If do not have scores at this level or coursework that meets the requirement, students may need to take Assessment Test. https://www1.dcccd.edu/catalog/admiss/tsi_exempt.cfm Official college transcripts, if you have already attended another college. Have your transcripts sent directly to the Dallas County Community College you wish to attend. Many DCCCD courses have prerequisites that must be met before registering. As a result, students who have not submitted transcripts may not be able to register for all desired classes. (See frequently asked questions about the transcript evaluation process.) Proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination (Some exemptions apply.) You may also be asked to provide documentary evidence of your residency status. The amount of tuition charged is based on where you live. Questions? Contact the Admissions/Registrar’s Office at the college you plan to attend. Other important Information Once you have completed this process, please email your student ID# to me at [email protected] If you have any questions or run into difficulties email me or call me right away, I can really help you with this process (and I don’t have to wait in line in most cases!)
