Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a lovely, relaxing holiday with your wonderful children.
Clubs Clarification – Clubs will run ALL year apart from the first and last week of
each term. This includes all weeks prior and after half term holidays. For summer
term 2014, the last day of clubs will be on Friday 18th July. They will then re-start in
the second week back in September.
Homework Policy – In response to concerns about children having both too much
and too little homework via parent responses on OFSTED’s parent view, we have
adapted our homework policy. Please see me with any questions or concerns before
the policy is ratified by governors on 11th June.
Nursery: Read TO by parents, grandparents, older siblings (10 minutes per day).
Reception: Read WITH parents, grandparents, older siblings (10 minutes per day),
research project per half term based on curriculum.
Y1: Reading, spelling, times tables, number bonds (15 minutes per day).
Y2: Reading, spelling, times tables, number bonds (15 minutes per day), research
project per half term based on curriculum.
Y3: Reading, spelling, times tables, number bonds (20 minutes per day), research
project per half term based on curriculum.
Y4: Reading, spelling, times tables, number bonds (20 minutes per day), research
project per half term based on curriculum.
Y5: Reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation, calculations (20 minutes per day),
research project per half term based on curriculum.
Y6: Reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation, calculations (20 minutes per day),
research project per half term based on curriculum.
Non-Uniform Day – Many thanks for supporting our non-uniform day for Riding
for the Disabled. We will be having another non–uniform day, for another worthy
cause, Cornwall Hospice on Monday 9th June.
This has been organised by Miss Hope, a volunteer who has been working in school
throughout the year. She is doing a sky-dive to raise money for a cause that has
touched her personally and deeply.

I do understand that this is close to the last non-uniform day, and we will of course
understand if people choose not to take part. If children do dress up, please wear
green, purple or something to do with flying or parachuting and make a contribution
via Mrs. Courts.

Please try and attend our Summer Bonanza on 04/07/14 from 2.30 – 4.30.
As it falls on American Independence day, we will have an American theme.
St. Agnes Flora Dance - Please add 11th June to your diary for the annual St.
Agnes Flora Dance at 7.30 p.m. from Trelawney Road Car Park to Rosemundy House
Hotel. We will be practicing with the children in school over the coming weeks.
