TIE-BREAKER RULES
Golfers are to use the following tie breaker rules (USGA 33-6):
ALL MAJOR TOURNAMENT PLAY EXCEPT THE FINAL ROUND
 In the event of a tie at the end of any regulation 18 hole major
tournament match, the winner will be determined on the basis of
the “last nine holes” played. Therefore, the winner will be the
player who would have won the match using only the “last nine
holes”. The “last nine holes” is considered to be holes 10-18.
 In the event that the “last nine holes” (holes 10 – 18) is still tied,
the winner will be determined based on the results of the last six
holes played (holes 13 – 18), then the last three holes (holes 16 18) and if still tied, then finally the 18th hole.
 In the unlikely case that a tie remains after using all the above
“last nine holes” methods, the “front nine holes” (holes 1 – 9)
will be used to determine the winner.
 In the unlikely event that the “front nine holes” (holes 1 – 9) is
still tied, the winner will be determined based on the results of
the last six holes played (holes 4 – 9), then the last three holes
(holes 7 - 9) and if still tied, then finally the 9th hole.
 In the extreme case of a tie remaining after exhausting all the
above methods on both the back nine and front nine holes, the
winner will be determined using each individual hole in the order
of the hardest handicap hole to the easiest handicap hole.
ALL MAJOR TOURNAMENT PLAY - FINAL ROUND
 If the FINAL ROUND of any Major Tournament (All flights except
The Memorial) results in a tie, there will be a true sudden-death
playoff to determine the winner of the tournament.
 The sudden death playoff sequence will begin with replaying the
18th hole, and if still tied, the 10th and then if still tied, the 18th
hole once again.
 If still tied, the players will continue the sudden death playoff
and repeat the 10th and 18th holes as many times as needed
until a player wins a hole.
