Pre-Game Timeline Details

All,
The purpose of this document is to inform all FTYF Coaches and team Cheer Coordinators of the on-field
pregame activities protocol and timeline that will be used this season. On-field pregame activities include any
team music to be played on the PA system, banner run throughs, line ups, etc. that a team might conduct on
the field or in the end zone prior to the scheduled start time of their game.
The timeline was created in collaboration between the Officials Group and the FTYF Board. The timeline
ensures each team gets equal and adequate time to complete customary on-field pregame actives while
recognizing everyone's desire to run the entirety of games for the day on time to the extent possible.
On-field Pre-game Activities Timeline:
1- Five (5) minutes PRIOR to the SCHEDULED start time of the game, the HOME team's on-field pregame
activities shall begin. The home team will be allotted two (2) minutes to complete their on-field pregame
activities. The officials will normally place a 2:00 clock on the scoreboard to note the remaining time. At the end
of the two (2) minutes, the home team on-field pregame activities (including any music on the PA system) shall
end. This requires the home team to be prepared to begin their on-field pregame activities (including
preparing any music) five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game. The time allotment will not be
held for any reason. When the time allotment has expired, other activities will move on.
2- Immediately following the HOME team's on-field pregame activities (IE, three (3) minutes PRIOR to the
SCHEDULED start time of the game), the VISITING team's on-field pregame activities shall begin. The visiting
team will be allotted two (2) minutes to complete their on-field pregame activities. The officials will normally
place a 2:00 clock on the scoreboard to note the remaining time. At the end of the two (2) minutes, the visiting
team's on-field pregame activities (including any music on the PA system) shall end. This requires the visiting
team to be prepared to begin their on-field pregame activities (including preparing any music) immediately
following the home team’s on-field pregame activities three (3) minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the
game. The time allotment will not be held for any reason. When the time allotment has expired, other activities
will move on.
3- Immediately following the visiting team's pregame activities, each team will have one (1) minute to present
team captains or a team representative (Coach, assistant coach, etc.) at the coin toss meeting with the officials
at midfield. Failure to attend this meeting on time will result in a delay of game penalty to begin the game.
4- It is important to note, that while games will not begin prior to the SCHEDULED START TIMES, on-field
pregame activities will. Please ensure parents, fans, etc. that attend games to watch on-field pregame
activities are aware that these activities actually occur PRIOR to the scheduled start time of the game.
5- In the event a game's start time is delayed due to a previous game not yet being completed, the established
timeline will begin IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING the preceding game.
6- It is imperative that any pregame activities be prepared to go at the prescribed time. It is highly
recommended that team's designate someone to load music, line people up, etc. so that your allotted time is
utilized. Allotted times will not be held for any reason.
7- Upon conclusion of your game, please vacate the field and bench area as quickly as possible.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in ensuring all teams are afforded ample and equal opportunity to
conduct on-field pregame activities without unnecessary delay to the games.
