Getting started:
Follow the steps below to get call answer/end
controls with your Savi headset and Avaya one-X®
Agent.
1. Connect your Savi base to the computer. If
this is the first time you are connecting,
wait for the installation process to
complete.
2. To get call control features, please
download the latest version of Plantronics
software at plantronics.com/software.

Configuring Avaya one-X Agent to always route
call audio to the headset:
3. Click the Menu icon in the upper right
corner of the main Avaya one-X Agent
screen.
4. Select Agent Preferences.
5. Then choose Audio.
6. Next select the Advanced tab.
7. Select your Plantronics headset as the
default device for both Playback and
Recording.
8. When finished select Ok.

Note: USB configuration settings are unique for each
USB port. If you connect the headset to a different port
you will need to make these changes again to set
behavior for that USB port.

To MAKE a call:
To call an existing contact, select the
address book icon in the Avaya one-X
Agent main screen (1). Then click the
phone icon to the right of the contact’s
name that you would like to call (2).

You can also enter a phone number
manually using the text box above the
contacts area in the Avaya one-X Agent
main screen (3).
When a call is placed, a call notification
will appear in the Avaya one-X Agent
main screen, and the audio will be
routed to your headset.

To RECEIVE a call:
When you receive a call, a notification
will appear in the Avaya one-X Agent
main screen (4).
To answer the call, use the controls on
your headset or click the green phone
icon in the call notification (5).

Configuring Avaya one-X Communicator to always
route call audio to the headset:
3. Click the Menu icon in the Avaya one-X
Communicator main screen.
4. Select Settings, then General Settings.
5. Next choose Audio.
6. Click Audio Tuning Wizard.
7. Select your Plantronics headset as the
default device for both Playback and
Recording. Click Next.
8. In these next screens, you can test and adjust
volume, recording level, and identify
background noise for optimal noise
cancellation.
9. When adjustments are complete, select
Finish.
Note: USB configuration settings are unique for each USB
port. If you connect the headset to a different port you
will need to make these changes again to set behavior for
that USB port.

Configuring Cisco IP Communicator to always route call
audio to the headset:
3. Click the Menu icon in the upper right corner of
the Cisco IP Communicator main screen.
4. Select the Audio Tuning Wizard option.
5. Select your Plantronics headset as the default
device for the Headset option.
6. We recommend you select your Plantronics
headset as the default device for both
Speakerphone and Handset options as well.
7. To route the ringer through your PC speakers,
select the default Windows audio device for the
Ringer option. Click Next.
8. In these next few screens you can test and adjust
listening volume and microphone level.
9. When you are finished adjusting listening volume
and microphone level, click Finish.
Note: USB configuration settings are unique for each USB
port. If you connect the headset to a different port you will
need to make these changes again to set behavior for that
USB port.

To MAKE a call:
To call an existing contact, click on the
Directories (1) icon. Click on one of the
choices given depending on your contact (2).
Then click the contact’s name (3) and hit
Dial (4).

To initiate a call by typing a phone number,
click on the main window of the Cisco IP
Communicator screen and begin dialing the
number. Then press the Enter Key.

When a call is placed, a call notification will
appear in the main Cisco IP Communicator
screen, and the audio will be routed to your
headset.
To RECEIVE a call:
When you receive a call, a red light will blink
on your Cisco IP Communicator screen (5)
and a call notification window will appear in
the lower right corner of your computer
screen (6).
To answer the call, use the controls on your
headset or click the left pane of the call
notification window (7). To dismiss the call,
click the right pane of the call notification
window (8).

Cisco WebEx Connect main screen.
4. Then select Settings.
5. Next choose Audio/Video.
6. Select your Plantronics headset in the drop
down for both Speakers and Microphone.
7. You can also adjust the Speakers and
Microphone volume in this screen.
8. When you are finished, select Save.

Configuring Cisco Unified Communications Integration for
Microsoft Office Communicator to always route call audio to the
headset:
3. Click the drop down arrow icon in the upper left corner of
the Office Communicator window.
4. Select the Tools option.
5. Then select Set Up Audio and Video.
6. The first screen will be Setup for Handset or Headset.
Verify that your Plantronics headset is selected in the drop
down menu. Click Next.
7. This screen is Setup for Speakers/Microphone or
Speakerphone. Select Custom in the main drop down
menu.
8. Make sure your Plantronics headset is listed as your
speaker and microphone in the two drop down lists. Click
Next.
9. In the next screen, you will set the audio output for your
sounds (for example: incoming call or new IM message
alerts). We recommend that you use your PC speakers for
this setting (if you have a sound card and speakers
available). After making your selection click Finish.

6. Now you can select which device plays your
incoming call alerts by selecting and option for
Ringtone. These sounds typically route through
your PC speakers, but can come through your
Plantronics headset if you prefer.
7. In this screen you can also adjust Speakers and
Ringtone volume levels.
8. When you are finished adjusting volume levels,
click Ok.

Getting started:
Follow the steps below to get call answer/end controls with your
Savi headset and IBM® Lotus® Sametime® or SUT (Sametime
Unified Telephony).
1. Connect your Savi base to the computer. If this is the
first time you are connecting, wait for the installation
process to complete.
2. Please uninstall any previous Plantronics software
before starting step #3.
3. Please download the latest version of Plantronics
software for Sametime at Plantronics.com/ibmuc. Click
Download Now under Downloads and Apps on the
right-hand side of the page.
4. On this page, please complete the registration process.
Then press the blue Download button on the next page.
5. Follow on-screen prompts to complete installation. For
detailed installation instructions refer to the online
Installation Guide located at the previous web pages in
step 4. If the update manager informs you that newer
software is available, please upgrade.

8. In the Preferences window, select Telephony, Audio
and Video.
9. Select your Plantronics headset as the default device for

10. Now you can select which device plays your incoming
call alerts by selecting an option for Ringing. These
sounds typically route through your PC speakers, but
can come through your Plantronics headset if you
prefer.
