SPRING 2017 | STEM exCEL Robotics:
WEDNESDAYS, 3:35pm5:05pm ▪ Apr 5May 31, 2017 ▪ no class on Apr 12
Tuition: $198 ▪ 8 meetings, 1.5 hours per meeting ▪ Grades 1st-4th ▪ ROOM 167
The STEM exCEL Robotics program is designed for students looking to get started with robotics, who are
possibly interested in learning competitive robotics. In this course, students will learn how to design, build,
and program Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots by constructing and programming a robot.
Then, by applying engineering concepts as well as advanced sensor programming skills, students will
perfect their design and programming to solve a variety of challenges. These engineering, design and
programming concepts also serve as a great stepping stone for students that have an interest in competing
in robotics competitions such as First Lego League (FLL).
SPRING 2017 | Raspberry Pi:
THURSDAYS, 3:35pm4:35pm ▪ April 6June 1, 2017 ▪ no class on Apr 13
Tuition: $155 ▪ 8 meetings, 1 hour per meeting ▪ Grades 4th-6th ▪ ROOM 167
The Raspberry Pi is a fully-functional, small computer, used to teach the fundamentals of hardware and
software components by programming it to do whatever they want. This course is designed for students to
learn about electronic circuitry and python programming to provide an understanding of computer
engineering.
Registration is Open!

About the Computer & Coding Club program:
The program aims to align STEM education through beginner to advanced computer science and coding
opportunities to build a Mosby Woods community Computer & Coding Club. In subsequent after-school
enrichment sessions this year and going forward, Game Design, Website Design, Java, Python, Electronics,
Robotics, Raspberry Pi, 3D Printing and Minecraft Modding opportunities may be offered per PTA feedback.
About STEM exCEL:
STEM exCEL guides and mentors students to obtain a foundation in computer science and coding so they
may excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Whether students are future
computer scientists, inventors, artists, farmers or entrepreneurs, STEM exCEL’s goal is to prepare them to
follow their aspirations.
