This presentation is an introduction to DPDHL Group and DHL Supply Chain North
America’s strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach. It is for use with
Supply Chain North America associates in the US and Canada.
1. Prior to Presenting These Slides:
A. Review CSR supplemental tools and resources on Exel Experience: Go to
Communication & Engagement – H. Engaging Associates through Social Responsibility
These resources will assist HR and site management with implementing CSR activities.
B. Insert site specific information on the following slides:

– Site CSR contact information and upcoming site CSR events on slide 14
C. Review slides and supplemental tools with your site management team before
giving presentation to associates to ensure understanding of programs and policies.

Use this presentation at associate town halls or other meetings to promote this part of our
company strategy. Consider ordering supplemental materials to utilize at your site prior to
giving the presentation to associates.

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a company’s sense of responsibility towards
the community and environment (ecological and social) in which it operates. Companies
express CSR through their programs, operations and actions.

Community Involvement Policy 110.4: Site Support
Charity Challenge Program
Site-wide, company sponsored fundraising
activities may qualify for a dollar-for-dollar
company match – possibly DOUBLING
your fundraising efforts!
• Benefitting organization must meet eligibility guidelines and fit broadly
into one of three corporate focus areas: Go Green! Go Help! Go Teach!
• All company associates have the opportunity to voluntarily participate.
• Events conducted on personal time, outside of normal working hours are
not eligible for time off with pay.
• Site representative completes

Community Involvement Policy 110.4: Individual Associate Support
Volunteer Hours & Matching Grants Programs
Do you volunteer or participate in fundraising activities on your personal
time? If so, these programs are for you!
1. Volunteer Hours – Supports associates who volunteer 15 or more hours of personal
time to a qualifying organization per calendar quarter with a US$300 donation to the
organization. May submit one application per quarter/four applications per calendar year.
2. Matching Grants – Increase the value of personal fundraising efforts for a qualifying
organization (up to US $1,000). May apply twice in one calendar year. This program
does not apply to site-wide, company sponsored Charity Challenge efforts.
For Both Programs:
• Active, full-time associates are eligible to apply for support for qualifying organizations
•
Activities must not be conducted on work time or at work
•
Associates can not solicit donations or promote the event on work property/time. They
are not company-sponsored activities (Solicitation Policy 120.1)

Supporting Associate Green Purchases - getGreen Incentive Policy 110.6
• Rewards active, full-time associates for choosing “green”
alternatives in their personal lives.
• Incentives range from $25–$1,000 for qualified purchases such as a hybrid
vehicle; Energy Star-rated homes, appliances or products; alternative energy;
water conservation or waste reduction products; or trees.
• Associates may receive a maximum of $1,000 in incentives per calendar year.
• Policy unique to Supply Chain North America associates. Launched in 2008
to encourage associates to be “green” at work and in their personal lives.
Eligible associates may apply directly online. Completed applications must be
received within three months of the purchase date on the payment receipt:
