Tic Tac Toe Reading Program
The purpose of the Tic-Tac-Toe Reading Program is to encourage
reading in the many genres while providing the student with some
responsibility for its completion.
It includes a set of Connection Activities for reading/writing and
technology from which the student will choose when a book is
completed.
These Connection Activities are designed to provide differentiation
for learning abilities and interests of the students.
Books should be on the student's reading level or slightly above to
provide a challenge.
Object of the Game :
Students fill in a row (vertically, horizontally, and diagonally) on their
Tic-Tac-Toe Reading Bingo Card by reading a book from each of the
genres in the row, taking an AR test on the book and completing a
project/report for this genre. Projects/reports and AR test results
must be turned in to the Library Media Center.
After any row is completed, the student’s will be added to the
Tic-Tac-Toe Reading Wall in the Library Media Center and students
will receive a prize. If 2 rows are completed, students will receive a
special t-shirt.
