Does this policy affect Malta? Yes, Malta, as part of the EEA markets outside the UK and Ireland, is also part of the alignment process. 4. Who has the broadcast rights to Premier League matches in Malta? GO is the exclusive rights holder for Premier League broadcast rights in the Maltese territory. The Premier League has not granted English language rights for any market in the European Economic Area (EEA) outside the UK and Ireland to anyone else except GO. Anyone watching Premier League matches in Malta with an English commentary and not being aired by GO live is definitely watching an illegal transmission. 5. Has GO acquired the best possible package from the Premier League? GO has purchased the full Live Package of English Premier League matches, as offered to all markets in the European Economic Area (EEA) outside the UK and Ireland. 6. What’s in this Live Package? This Live Package comprises all 380 Premier League season matches. A minimum of 200 of these matches will be transmitted live, with the remaining ones broadcast with a 2-hour delay. 7. Will the most important matches be broadcast live, as in the UK? The live fixtures broadcast by GO include 168 major core matches of the Premier League - exactly the same as broadcast by major UK channels Sky and BT. A further 32 matches will be selected by GO to reflect the preference and following of GO’s subscribers. 8. Will the 32 matches that will be selected by GO have a live commentary?
