TRSLL Pool Player Rules 2017

TRSLL Pool Player Rules 2017
Overall




In the t-ball and farm divisions, no pool players are allowed.
The Player Agent will create and run the Pool Player program for minors and majors.
The Player Agent will use the pool to assign players on a rotating basis to those teams that are short
of players.
Managers/Coaches do not have the right to randomly pick and choose players from the pool or
otherwise.
Participating Players
 Players will be chosen from their respective divisions first. If there are no pool players available, pool
players may “play up” but not “play down” in a division. (e.g. majors will not play in minors)
 Pool players must bat at least once but be placed at the bottom of the line-up.
 Pool players who are called and show up at the game site must play at least six (6) defensive outs (2
innings) but will not start if there are already 9 rostered players in attendance. The pool player will
not be allowed to pitch.
 If a rostered player arrives to a game unexpectedly, that rostered player must be allowed to play in
the game in addition to the pool player who has been assigned.
 Three (3) is the maximum number of pool players that will be assigned to a team. If a team
needs more than 3 pool players the game should be rescheduled.
 Any team that finds out at, or just before, game time they do not have enough players to play, will
be given 15 minutes grace for the Player Agent to try to produce a pool player. If one is not found,
the game will result in a forfeit, and for the benefit of those who arrived, an unofficial game may be
played among the remaining players.
 Pool players should only be used when a team has eight or fewer players, and NOT when a team has
nine, the required number to play. The idea is that we want all the kids on your team to play.
Procedure for Assigning Pool Players
 Players will request to be part of the pool through the Player Agent.
 Players will be added to the pool and the list will be randomized.
 As the Player Agent is notified of a shortage of players for an upcoming game, pool players will be
contacted by the Player Agent on a rotating basis.
 If a pool player is asked to participate in a game and is unable to do so on that date, that player will
be bypassed and the next available pool player will be invited to participate.
