“Resurrection Power”
“In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to
do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving
instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.
After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many
convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a
period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
Acts 1:1-3 (NIV)
Jesus’ resurrection proved for all time:
1. God is ____________________.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (NIV)
2. We can tap into God’s _____________________ power.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God
that brings salvation to everyone who believes:
first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Romans 1:16 (NIV)
3. We ____________________ God’s power by seeking
him with all our hearts.
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
1. God ______________exists!
2. God exists within the story of human _______________.
3. God exists in the form of ______________.
4. God exists in _________________________ power!
All the believers were one in heart & mind. No one claimed that any of
their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection
of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them
all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to
time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money
from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed
to anyone who had need.
Acts 4:32-35 (NIV)
What does the resurrection mean to you and me?
“Always remember the essence of Christian holiness is simplicity and
purity; one design, one desire—entire devotion to God…and certainly
it will be proved by a thousand temptations; but in all these things
you shall be more than a conqueror.” –John Wesley
